Rayver Cruz Talks About the Cristine-Sarah Incident

So it was Rayver Cruz himself who told Cristine Reyes about the “malicious” remark Sarah Geronimo said on mic during an ASAP XV rehearsal which caused Cristine to blow her top and spill it all out on Twitter.

Sarah (who was Rayver’s girlfriend before he had an affair with Cristine) allegedly made the remark (“Pag magagaling magsayaw habulin ng mga babaeng sexy”) while Rayver, John Prats, and Gab Valenciano were rehearsing a dance number. Rayver perhaps took it personally and took it that Sarah was pertaining to him as the good dancer, and Cristine as the woman who chased him. (Well, if you’ve been involved like that, who wouldn’t take it as it is?)

Later that Sunday, Rayver and Cristine were together in a photoshoot for the Book 2 of their primetime soap, “Kristine.” Rayver admitted that he was the one who told Cristine about the remark Sarah had made during the ASAP rehearsals.

The 21-year-old actor/dancer was quoted as saying, “Oo, ako naman kasi yung nagsabi talaga kay Cristine and kasi gusto ko lang maging honest sa tao. Sa tingin ko,  wala namang mali ‘dun and wala naman akong ginagawang masama.” Lame excuse. A man should keep his mouth shut regarding things like that. But who are we to cast the stone? We all make mistakes. But the fact is, Rayver doesn’t think he made any mistake with that move at all.

Oh, well, at least Sarah might learn how to be careful with her comments (while using a microphone) on the next ASAP XV rehearsals.

As with regards to Sarah’s camp, nothing has been heard from them aside from a tweet by Anna Dasig (Sarah’s personal assistant) made to defend the pop star against Cristine’s messages.

Anna would later on tweet quotations about rudeness which anyone sober would sense that the messages are with regards to Cristines tirade last Sunday, December 12th.

Rayver has a taped interview on “The Buzz” tomorrow so be sure to watch that. I’m sure the hosts will also express their views regarding the matter so we’ll see (more or less) whose side they’ll be on.

No More Crutches For Charice

After seated performances due to a leg injury, Charice was back in top shape as she performed minus the crutches and the chair Monday night at the House of Blues in Orlando, Florida. The YouTube video below shows her singing Lady Gaga’s “Bad Romance” which has been part of her pop medley for these Christmas concerts.

It has been said that she’s coming up with a dance album next and singing popular dance tunes will somehow give the people an idea that she can do well in that genre.

Headlining the Orlando concert with Charice are Maroon 5, Train, and The Script.

After the Holidays, Charice will be back on the “Glee” set January to film the February 6th episode, which is said to be the most expensive “Glee” episode to date.

Hubert Webb is Now Free

Hubert Webb, together with the 6 others who were convicted of multiple murder in 1995, is now acquitted – with a 7-4 vote - after being in prison for 15 long years.

The 1991 Vizconde Massacre case was much sensationalized during its time it was even made into a movie starring Kris Aquino as Carmela Vizconde. The trial was even more popular with the son of Freddie Webb (former senator, basketball star, and actor) as the prime suspect. Another convicted who added to the celebrity flair of the trail was Antonio “Tony Boy” Lejano who is the son of Pinky de Leon and nephew of the multi-awarded actor Christopher de Leon.

The Supreme Court exonerated Hubert and the other six, citing the failure of the prosecution to prove their guilt beyond reasonable doubt and the unreliability of the testimony of the prosecution’s star witness.

Jessica Alfaro was then the star witness. She claimed that she saw Hubert in the act of raping Carmela, but her testimonies had much inconsistencies which the court ignored. She even failed to identify Miguel Rodriguez in open court. Alfaro now lives in Canada.

The other six who were acquitted are Antonio Lejano, Michael Gatchalian, Hospicio Fernandez, Peter Estrada, Miguel Rodriguez, and former police officer Gerardo Biong who was sentenced to 12 years in prison for being an accessory to the crime. Biong was already released prior to acquittal for having served his sentence in full.

Court administrator Jose Midas Marquez said the release of Webb and five others was immediately executory because no more motion for reconsideration can be filed because that would be tantamount to double jeopardy. He also added that the Webbs may claim damages against the State by filing petitions in court.

Can you imagine how much Hubert Webb lost for serving prison 15 years and then be acquitted at 41 years old?

Anyway, I’m sure that if there was a Kris Aquino-starrer “Vizconde Massacre” during the 90s, there would be a Hubert Webb story sooner or later. And since true-to-life movies are not hip at the moment, shows like Maala-ala Mo Kaya would surely take advantage of all the media hype.

Joseph Marco is Hot!

Joseph Marco is a promising young star included in the cast of ABS-CBN’s “Sabel.” And he looks a lot like Brazilian-Japanese model Daniel Matsunaga in this pic:

Here’s Daniel:

And I’m sure if Joseph Marco would often keep his shirt off like that (and a little more), he would definitely soon become a household name.

Zac and Vanessa is Over

Zac Efron and Vanessa Hudgens are not together anymore. The “High School Musical” stars who fell in love while they were filming the series, dated for almost four years.

E! reports that the two are still friends after the break-up, that is, according to their source.

I don’t think the break-up was a shocker to anyone, though. There were rumors about it in the past and besides, they haven’t made much noise these days. Well, aside from this break-up, of course.

Charice’s Loyalty Questioned

Charice cancelled her GMA-7 taping for a Christmas Special due to an stomach illness. But then a few days after the supposed taping, Charice performed at the Christmas in Rockefeller concert in New York and has stayed on for more Christmas concerts with singers such as Justin Bieber, Adam Lambert, and Jesse McCartney around the U.S. She was even seen performing in crutches, which means that even a limp doesn’t stop her from attending to her commitments.

The singing sensation’s no-show at GMA-7’s taping has become an issue on TV5’s Sunday celebrity talk show, “Paparazzi,” last December 12. Hosts Mo Twister, Ruffa, Gutierrez, and Cristy Fermin even hinted that perhaps Charice only used the stomach illness as an alibi to cancel her Christmas Special on GMA-7, because ABS-CBN allegedly questioned Charice’s sense of loyalty.

Charice started her singing career on ABS-CBN’s Little Big Star and has remained in the network until she was discovered on YouTube.

But why give a nod to GMA-7’s Christmas Special in the first place? Was it the manager who okayed the said special? Also, isn’t it possible to cancel it politely without using an illness as an excuse then later be seen so healthy and eventually in crutches?

It is also possible that Charice’s team in the U.S. made the stomach illness excuse so the singer could stay longer in the U.S. for the string of Christmas concerts. Great exposure, I agree, especially since it’s where their target market is. But they should have seen that coming.

Or is there bad communication between Charice’s U.S. management team and the local one?

Just asking.

Watch Charice at the Christmas in Rockefeller concert below.

Cristine Reyes, Zanjoe Marudo, Rayver Cruz in Hot Pictorial

So Cristine Reyes and Rayver Cruz were together yesterday in a pictorial for the book 2 of ABS-CBN’s primetime series “Kristine” while Sarah Geronimo was in ASAP XV making the “insulting” remark about male dancers being chased by sexy girls?

Uh-oh we can never tell as these pictures don’t have a timestamp. But these were uploaded yesterday on Zanjoe Marudo’s Facebook fan page:

Cristine Reyes vs. Sarah Geronimo?

Another word war? Twitter was on fire a few days ago when Chuvaness (@jiritajackson) spit out not so friendly messages to bloggers Ingrid Go (@thebaghag) and Bryanboy.

Now there’s a new war between Cristine Reyes and Sarah Geronimo.

Well, as far as I know, Sarah hasn’t retaliated yet. But then the singer is said to have started it all. During the rehearsals of ASAP XV, Sarah had been heard by the people (including the artistas) in the studio saying, “Pag magagaling magsayaw habulin ng mga babaeng sexy” on the mic.

Her words can easily be translated by anyone who follows local showbiz. ‘Magaling sumayaw’ is her ex-boyfriend Rayver Cruz, and the ‘babaeng sexy’ is Cristine Reyes who became Rayver’s girlfriend after he and Sarah broke up.

Cristine wasn’t in the studio when Sarah said those words on the microphone but you know how the walls have ears. Cristine was so pissed upon knowing what Sarah said, and so she used Twitter to say what she feels.

Cristine Reyes’ tweets in chronological order:

“I AM SO PISSED RIGHT NOW!”

Bakit Hindi mo totohanin in REAL LIFE?"

"What a backstabber with a super goody goody image and super sweet smile!"

"I'm not yet done with you. nawala lang ako today sa asap lalapitan mo na agad. Grabe ka sarili mo ata tinutukoy mo sa parinig mo. MOVE ON."

And this is what Anna Dasig has to say to Cristine:

@PilyangSweet nagbibiruan lang sila ni john pratts kanina..ewan ko kung bakit kailangan mong mag react ng over ng ganito? Relax ka lang! Alamin mo muna kung ano ang punot dulo bago ka magreact ng ganyan.

And Cristine’s replies:

MAGBIRO?!?

Diba?

Charice at No. 7 of 2010 Billboard Readers’ Poll

Charice is at no. 7 of the 2010 Readers’ Poll of Billboard.com.

Props to her loyal fans who I'm sure would go against the odds after Charice was snubbed at this year's People's Choice Awards and the Grammys.

David Archuleta, who Charice had a duet with, came in at no. 1 while the "Baby" singer Justin Bieber was at the 8th spot. Quite surprising when Charice only has 272,000 something followers on Twitter while Justin has over 6 million.

But then again perhaps that's what a loyal fan base can do.

Here’s a complete list of Billboard’s 2010 Readers’ Poll:

1. David Archuleta
2. Eminem
3.Lady Antebellum
4. Taylor Swift
5. JYJ
6. Katy Perry
7. Charice
8. Justin Bieber
9. Ke$ha
10. Kanye West

Sarah G and Gerald A To Do a Movie Together

Sarah Geronimo and Gerald Anderson in a movie? Umm… Oh well, I must say the two have a very big shoe to fill after Sarah’s two blockbuster movies with John Lloyd Cruz.

In 2008, Sarah and John Lloyd did “A Very Special Love” which is the 5th highest-grossing Filipino film to date. And last year, the tandem did a sequel to the movie entitled “You Changed My Life" which, to date, is the highest-grossing Filipino film.

Sarah and Gerald is said to start filming their movie December 13, Monday. Two years ago, news about their doing a movie together broke out much to the dismay (if not outrage) of the the fans of Gerald and Kim Chiu. The two’s tandem was still at the height of popularity that time so the Gerald-Sarah movie didn’t push through.

I am not underestimating the powers of Sarah Geronimo’s fans, but if this movie she’s making with Gerald Anderson didn’t even fare well enough with how much “A Very Special Love” made in the box-office, we can therefore conclude that it was John Lloyd’s charms that got them the blockbuster status.

Charice Explains the Crutches

Blogged earlier that Charice was on crutches when she performed at the WNCI 97.9 Jingle Ball. So what's the real reason behind the crutches? Did somebody beat her up or something?

Well, Charice talked to Maxwell backstage at Q102's Jingle Ball where the 18-year-old singer explained that she had cramps after performing in very high heels and playing basketball the day after.

Watch the interview below.

Richard Hardin & Richard Herrera Win TARA 4!

The Riches did it!

Finally, a Philippine team ranked first in AXN’s The Amazing Race Asia. Richard Hardin and Richard Herrera, one of the two teams from the Philippines this season, emerged as winners in the 10th and final leg of the race.

We were so proud of Mark Nelson and Rovilson Fernandez when they placed third in season 2. We were prouder when Tisha Silang and Geoff Rodriguez finished second in season 3. But we’re now at our proudest because The Riches didn’t fail to bring home the bacon!

Congratulations, you two!

Charice in Crutches at the WNCI 97.9 Jingle Ball

Charice walked to the stage of WNCI 97.9 Jingle Ball in crutches last December 7th. Host Jesse McCartney told the audience briefly in the intro that Charice had an accident over the weekend that caused her to be hospitalized, but she nevertheless made it to the show that day.

Charice performed alongside Mike Posner, The Ready Set, Hallow, and my personal favorite, Train.

Watch Charice perform Pyramid, Jingle Bell Rock, California Girls, etc. below.

Aljur to Play “Machete”

“Machete” will be made into a teleserye by GMA-7. And guess who’s playing the title role.

Yessss! No one else but Aljur Abrenica! I can’t think of anyone from the GMA-7 stable of talents (aside from Dingdong Dantes) to better play Machete. I was kinda wishing for Jake Cuenca but he belongs to ABS-CBN.

Cesar Montano and Gardo Versoza played the role of Machete back in the 90s in two separate sexy movies. Question is, will the tv-remake be as sexy as the movies? With Machete’s costume in mind, I guess it’s enough to call the tv series sexy.

Jovit Baldivino - "I'd Do Anything For Love"

Less than a week after his first album, "Faithfully," received a platinum award, Jovit Baldivino is now preparing for the release of his second solo album entitled "I'd Do Anything For Love."

Included in the album is his first composition, "Nananaginip ng Gising." Way to go, we should say.

The "Pilipinas Got Talent" winner is surely making waves in the music industry. We just hope he sings something with a lower key that we could sing. LoL!

Tracks of "I'd Do Anything For Love" include:

1. I Can Wait Forever
2. Carrie
3. I’d Do Anything For Love
4. Please Forgive Me
5. Mahal Pa Rin Kita
6. Making Love Out Of Nothing At All
7. Nanaginip Ng Gising
8. Ika’y Mahal Pa Rin
9. Total Eclipse Of The Heart
10. Alam Ko Di Ako Ok Lang
11. Sana Ngayong Pasko
12. Pasko Ay Pag-Ibig
13. I Can Wait Forever minus one
14. Carrie minus one
15. Ika’y Mahal Pa Rin minus one

2011 Grammy Nominees

The 53rd Grammy nominees has just been revealed with Eminem getting the most nods with 10 nominations, followed by Bruno Mars with 7, and Jay-Z, Lady Antebellum, and Lady Gaga each with 6.

Meanwhile, our very own Charice Pempengco didn't receive any nominations despite David Foster's bold claim that she could be headed for the Grammys. David said that when the Filipina singing sensation failed to make it as a nominee in the recent People's Choice Awards.

Too early for nominations she might be, Charice is definitely headed to the top. Her Glee character, Sunshine Corazon, will definitely be back for the post-Super Bowl episode which is said to be the most expensive Glee episode to date.

Along with Charice, Cheyenne Jackson will also be back as the coach of Vocal Adrenaline.

The episode will feature the songs of Michael Jackson, Black Eyed Peas, Katy Perry, and Lady Antebellum. As for the songs that Charice will cover, there's no news about it as of this writing.

Has your prayers about Charice's return to Glee been answered? Well, good. You can do her more favor if you pray harder for a Grammy nomination next year.

Miyerkulitz

For the first time since its pilot episode last Monday, I was able to watch ABS-CBN's newest show, Shoutout.

Not that I made it sure to watch on a Wednesday because I'm a fan of Bret Jackson, it just so happened that I didn't have time to watch during the past two days.

But really, Bret is so fun to watch.

And of course, Enrique Gil cannot be overlooked.

Although I cringed a lot during the Britney Spears sing-and-dance number of the love teams (which included the love teams of Bret and Fretzie, Enchong and Erich, and Paul and Sue).
