Chris Hemsworth, who played Capt. Kirk's dad in Star Trek re-boot, is playing Thor, a powerful but arrogant warrior who is cast out of the fantastic realm of Asgard and sent to live among the humans on Earth as punishment. Once here, Thor learns what it takes to be a true hero when the most dangerous villain of his world sends the darkest forces of Asgard to invade Earth.
Thor drops May 6, 2011. The movie also stars Natalie Portman, Samuel L. Jackson, and Anthony Hopkins among others. It is directed by Kenneth Branagh (Sleuth, As You Like It).
