Excited fans gathered at Fort Bonifacio for the reunion concert of Eraserheads, the most successful band of the 90s. But the fun was cut short when after 14 songs, the band took a break for a 20-minute intermission which seemed to be taking too long. After a while, Raimund Marasigan, Marcus Adoro, and Buddy Zabala together with Ely's sister, Lally, returned on stage to tell the news that Ely had to be rushed to the hospital.The concert was originally scheduled for free on August 23 but was cancelled because its sponsor, Marlboro, supposedly violated the ban on tobacco advertising. A new sponsor took the concert and tickets were eventually sold via Ticketworld. To top it all, Ely's mom died on August 28.
Ely reportedly passed out due to stress and lack of sleep. The Eraserheads front man is now in stable condition at the Makati Medical Center.
