The winners at the 31st Luna Awards have been revealed Saturday night, June 1, 2013. Six awards went to the Star Cinema movie The Mistress, while five went to Scenema Conept International’s El Presidente.
One More Try, also from Star Cinema, got only one award - Best Actress for Angel Locsin.
The John Lloyd Cruz-Bea Alonzo starrer The Mistress is the most-nominated movie at the 31st Luna Awards (2013) with 11 out of the possible 12. The only category it isn’t nominated for is Best Production Design.
2012 MMFF entry One More Try got 8 nominations which include Best Actress for Angel Locsin, who won in the same category at the recent FAMAS and Star Awards for Movies.
Manila Kingpin was a big winner at the 30th Luna Awards (2012) held last night at the Quezon City Sports Club. It got six awards including the coveted Best Film.
Meanwhile, Thelma got four recognitions including Best Actress for Maja Salvador and Best Director for Paul Soriano.
Kapuso actress Lovi Poe is nominated in both Best Actress and Best Supporting Actress categories for her performance in My Neighbor’s Wife and Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow respectively.
Meanwhile, the director of Manila Kingpin: The Asiong Salonga Story is nominated for Best Director. We wonder who will be credited as director since Tikoy Aguiluz, who helmed the movie, doesn’t want to be credited as such.
