Deadliest rescue mission in Maze Runner: The Death Cure begins January 24 nationwide

Action reaches new heights in this mission-oriented third and final segment of The Maze Runner series, Maze Runner: The Death Cure. The Wes Ball-directed adaptation of the bestselling James Dashner YA trilogy is a 20th Century Fox production. The screenplay was written by T.S. Nowlin. Producers are Ellen Goldsmith-Vein of The Gotham Group, Wyck Godfrey and Marty Bowen of Temple Hill Productions Joe Hartwick, Jr., Wes Ball, and Lee Stollman.

Maze Runner: The Death Cure, picks up roughly six months after the Scorch Trials ended. In the final battle of The Scorch the survivors of The Flare, a disease that has devastated the world’s population, have defined their purpose; to find a safe haven away from the influence of WCKD. This exciting conclusion of the Maze Runner trilogy reunites many of the original cast members from 2014’s The Maze Runner; Dylan O’Brien as Thomas; Kaya Scodelario as Teresa; Ki Hong Lee as Minho; Thomas Brodie-Sangster as Newt; Dexter Darden as Frypan and Patricia Clarkson as Dr. Ava Paige along with newer cast members from Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials; Giancarlo Esposito as Jorge, Rosa Salazar as Brenda, Aidan Gillen as Janson, Barry Pepper as Vince and Walton Goggins as Lawrence.

WCKD's last city standing in the final chapter 'Maze Runner: The Death Cure'

Maze Runner: The Death Cure, the third and final chapter of the massively-followed YA blockbuster book-to-movie franchise will open in Philippine cinemas on January 24 with returning cast  - Dylan O’Brien, Kaya Scodelario, Ki Hong Lee, Rosa Salazar and Thomas Brodie-Sangster.

In the first movie The Maze Runner, the Gladers found themselves in the middle of a giant maze patrolled by deadly monsters. With no memory of who they were before they found themselves in the Glade, mystery abounded, and getting out of the maze’s oppressive walls was their main preoccupation.

In the second film “Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials,” they had achieved their goal, only to discover that the outside world contained just as many horrors.   And now, in “Maze Runner: The Death Cure”, as Thomas (O’Brien) and his fellow Gladers adjust to life in the Scorch, they realise that the key to putting an end to this war they find themselves at the heart of lies in the Last City, a walled-off utopia where WCKD has its base, and where the last survivors of the deadly Flare virus keep safe.

'The Maze Runner' - Manual and Prayer

Thomas (played by Dylan O’Brien) enters the Glade with nary a memory of himself except for his name. Along with the elite of runners named Minho (played by Ki Hong Lee), Thomas runs the maze in the morning before the predators, known as the Grievers, come out.

'The Maze Runner' - Meet the Gladers (VIDEO)

“The Maze Runner” is set to turn things in a dizzying blur as the teenage captives in a virtual prison known as The Glade run for a chance to save their lives. Headed by “Teen Wolf” heartthrob Dylan O’Brien along with a group of talented young actors including Kaya Scodelario, Will Poulter, Aml Ameen, Thomas Brodie-Sangster, Ki Hong Lee and Blake Cooper,  “The Maze Runner” is directed by Wes Ball based on James Dashner’s hugely successful (trilogy) tome.


At this year's Comic Con, the cast attests that the moviegoers will be shocked on how the book’s famous baddies, known as the Grievers, were depicted. Director Ball further stressed that the audience will definitely be in for a pretty terrifying ride.
