Tangled

Rapunzel gets a make-over. She doesn’t just wait for Prince Charming at the tower, she ventures “into the outside world for the first time to find him.”

Also, Walt Disney gives the classic tale a new title – Tangled.

The movie will be released starting November 24, 2010 and I think The Philippines will get the same play date to avoid piracy. LoL!

SPCS E13: Party, Party!

Immunity Challenge. Magan loses again. They had Elma Muros against Sar Mayee's Akihiro Sato and Nagar's Jon Hall in a challenge that requires physical strength.

For the second time, Magan will go to the Tribal Council on Friday. Will that mean Myka Flores will now get eliminated? Hope so.

With Sar Mayee and Nagar's win comes a scroll that says they will be fed. So the two tribes go over Nagar's camp with beef for barbeque. Michelle Madrigal is in charge of cooking and she will always take a slice of each meat brought to her and eat it while everyone stares. And then when it is finally time to eat, Michelle says "dahan-dahan sa pagkuha ng beef." As if she hasn't been eating the beef all along. B*tch. We hope she gets evicted soon.

spcs party

After the "party" the Sar Mayee tribe asks if Nagar can donate some of their "pawid" and Jon tells them they can have some of those at the side. But then Moi Marcampo offers more, to the irritation of Jon. In a confessional, Jon says he's the leader and Moi doesn't have the right to do that.

And as Moi and Ahron Villena are being considered as allies, Jon has something against Ahron, too, because Ahron got rice from the plate Jon, Ian, and Michelle share from.

Tomorrow's episode is dedicated on the Jon-Moi, Jon-Ahron confrontation. Oh well. I hope Ahron fights back.

SPCS E12: Stop the Leak

Reward Challenge. They have to stop the leak in the rice container by putting the gears in place and eventually putting the machine (that will plug something into the hole of the container) to work.

The price: Well everyone will get to take home the remaining rice from the container provided they are able to stop it from leaking before it runs out of rice, so it's kinda important that they finish the challenge even if they are the last one to finish. The winning tribe will also be able to take back everything that was stolen from them in the previous episode. The second placer will be able to get 3 items from the stuff that was stolen from them, while the loosing tribe will get back nothing. Winner will also get fishing gears and a scroll they can open when they get back to camp.

Myka Flores isn't participating due to medical reasons. That leaves Magan with only four members. Nagar has to sit out 1 member, and Sar Mayee, 2.

Nagar is the first to finish, with Jon Hall as the puzzle solver, putting the machine to work, thus, stopping the rice leak.

Sar Mayee and Magan, on the other hand, continue to work with the puzzle due to the fact that they can bring the remaining rice back to their camp.

But Sar Mayee is wrong in choosing Karen delos Reyes as the puzzle solver because they aren't able to finish the puzzle before the container ran out of rice. And for that, they are not able to take home anything, not even a piece of what was taken from their camp.

So Nagar finished second, with the puzzle-solving skills of Mico Aytona. From what has recently happened with their tribe – with losing in the first Immunity Challenge, the elimination of Ferds Recio, their stuff stolen by Sar Mayee – winning second in this challenge somehow lifts their spirits.

Elma Muros, Mico Aytona, and Solenn Heussaff are having a secret alliance. They are really not in favor of Buhawi Meneses's eliminating Doc Ferds.

aki

The three tribes aren't able to sleep the night after the Reward Challenge because of mosquitoes. Sadly, Akihiro Sato is the most affected because he has an allergy with mosquito (bites). You can see big, pimply bites all over his body and limbs.

So okay, you can see the watermark in the pic. I watched on the net via pnoytv.com. Not bad, really. Although the sound can still be improved.

SPCS E10: Bye Doc!

doc ferds

Ferds Recio, the veterinarian host of Born To Be Wild, is Survivor Philippines: Celebrity Showdown first boot. (We can’t really consider Princess Snell a first boot because she quit.)

During the Tribal Council, only the tribe’s mayor is asked to vote who he wants to boot out. Good thing for Myka Flores because had it been the whole tribe, she could have been the one going home tonight.

Doc Ferds’ bossy attitude didn’t serve him well. When host Richard Gutierrez asked him if he was disappointed when he fell short on votes against Jon Hall for being the third tribe leader, he said he’s not. He even related how he signaled the other CAs not to vote for him because he really didn’t want to lead. For him, being a leader means early eviction. “I wanna join the team and help my leader become stronger,” he said.

So that’s why he’s always bossing Buhawi Meneses around!

Anyway, Pretty Trizsa goes back to the Sar Mayee camp after talking to the castaways’ psychologist. Despite voicing out her desire to quit at the previous episode, we guess the psychologist won by convincing him to go back.

Charice’s Album Re-entered Billboard 200

charice billboard 200

Charice’s self-titled album has climbed up to the 160th spot of the Billboard Hot 200 after her Oprah guestings have been re-aired last September 1st.

The album is expected to climb higher with the airing of Glee’s second season where she has a recurring guest role of Sunshine Corazon, a Filipino foreign exchange student at the fictitious William McKinley High School.

SPCS E09: Poop!

The tribes receive a tree mail. Food will be brought to their camps but only the tribe’s mayors will be able to eat. Tribe members can also have some if they will do what the mayor asks them to do.

Dares range from doing the “helicopter” (where one would have to bend down, point a finger on a fixed spot on the ground and go on circles), make the tribe members laugh, jump around like a kangaroo, etc.

Anyway, a disgusting thing happened at the Sar Mayee camp. Everyone is pretty mad at Pretty Trizsa for doing number 2 near the water source. Karen delos Reyes is cursing, obviously the most irritated of them all. She says Trizsa didn’t even use the shovel to dig on the spot where she did number 2. To top it all, Trizsa used the thing they use to get water to wash whatever it is that needs washing after doing number 2. Gross really. And we were having dinner that time. Boo Pretty Trizsa!

So when the four sets of food arrived at the Sar Mayee camp, Aira Bermudez (the tribe leader) didn’t even give Trizsa a chance to do a dare. The poop thing and the fact that Trizsa is almost always sleeping, not participating in the camp tasks, made Aira decide not to give him food. We agree. Trizsa doesn’t put his energy to use, anyway.

The stand-up comedian felt so bad with the incident, feeling as though his tribe has denied him of food.

Pretty Trizsa rides a boat to see Dr. Ali Gui, the castaways’ psychologist. The doctor says Trizsa’s sentiments has a deeper root, and it goes down to the fact that his tribe mates can’t accept him for who he is.

Lovely, so they should accept him even if he does number 2 near their camp, near the water source, not even digging so he cover his poop with soil after. Disgusting!

The Magan Tribe, on the other hand, is having a drama cuz they are the ones going to the Tribal Council that night. Buhawi has already admitted that he finds it hard with Doc Ferds bossing him around. But Elma Muros thinks they need the veterinarian’s physical strength to win the challenges. Myka Flores, though, can feel that she’ll be voted out. Reason why she goes to the beach, walking alone and silently crying. And just like in a real telenovela, Buwi gets in the scene to console her.

So we guess it’s a toss between Doc Ferds and Myka. But we’ll never know for sure until tomorrow.

Charice on Glee Season Premiere Party

Charice attended the red carpet season premiere party of the hit tv show Glee in California last Tuesday. She says she’s happy that her character Sunshine Corazon (who is a Filipino exchange student at the William McKinley High School) is something much like her in real life.

“Sunshine is very, very Charice, simple one, shy type,” she said.

Read more about it here.

Let’s just hope, though, that this isn’t just a one-hit tv show for her. But then we know Oprah and David Foster are behind her. How can you go wrong with that?

SPCS E08: The Immunity Idol Cut Into Half

Isla Misteryo explained further. So we see it’s not like the Exile Island. The castaways chosen to go there have the chance to find gold coins which they can use to buy stuff from the Mystery Store found in the same island.

Mistery Store

What can be found in that store? Many things including food, toiletries, precious items (like pics of their loved ones), and the much desired Immunity Bracelet among others.

Anyway, Akihiro Sato, Michelle Madrigal, and Solenn Heussaff are able to find some gold coins, but don’t give in to the temptation of spending those at the store because they might need the coins in a much more important situation than that. I also don’t think, though, that the coins they accumulated are enough to buy them an Immunity Bracelet.

The meaning of the tribe names are explained in this episode.

Magan is a mystical sea monster. It looks like a giant crocodile and has a mouth of an elephant.

Sar Mayee, another mythical creature, looks like an ox with long hair.

Nagar is a powerful dragon which breathes fire. According to mythology, the things that the Nagar stares at turns into dust.

Nagar, who won the Reward Challenge and were told of a surprise when they arrived at their camp, finds JC Tiuseco waiting for them and welcoming them to the Nagar camp site. JC, the 1st Pinoy Sole Survivor, shows them the shelter materials which are part of their winning the Reward Challenge. Jon Hall, the tribe leader, tells everyone of his plans for the shelter and everybody is okay with it.

Magan also starts shelter-building. Labor at their camp is divided among them but Myka Flores finds Ferds Rencio very “palautos.”

As we predicted, Sar Mayee was so wrong in choosing Akihiro for the Isla Misteryo. They definitely need him in building their shelter during that first day in their new camp. Ervic Vijandre is pissed off that he’s the only male around. He has no choice but to follow whatever the girls tell him to do.

And follow he does, that is, he only follows orders and not seem to have initiative in doing stuff around the camp.

Back at the Magan camp, JC notices that Moi is kinda the second leader in line because she has the tendency to boss around. Not anyone, though. She only bosses Ian Batherson around.

The morning after, the tribes receive a tree mail announcing the Immunity Challenge.

The challenge is called Makinig, Makinig Sa Iisang Tinig (Listen, Listen to Only One Voice). One voice, being that of the leader’s. The objective is to get their respective pride flags from the end of the water course and put it on the platform at the shore. While paddling their way towards the flag, there will be ladder pieces floating around and the leader would have to pick them all up before getting the flag. The leaders are not allowed to paddle, they are only to direct the team, get the ladder pieces and the flag.

Once they have all the ladder pieces and the flag, they can go back to shore. The leader will stand on the tribe mat while the members fit the ladder pieces together. When the ladder is done, it will be used by the leader to go up the platform where the flag stand is. The first two tribes to have their flags on their respective stands win.

Nagar is the first to complete the ladder pieces and the flag. They return to the shore but has problems assembling the ladder. Magan is the second to arrive at the shore and starts fitting the ladder pieces together. Sar Mayee arrives last but they immediately catch up with the two tribes in assembling their ladder.

Nagar is still the first one to assemble the ladder correctly. Jon’s tribe are ecstatic for winning the challenge means they won’t be going to the Tribal Council.

Magan, on the other hand, even if they were the one who reached the shore after Nagar, are still having problems with their ladder. Is it because they have two “leaders” and the members don’t know who to listen to?

Sadly, Magan is the weakest of the tribes. More so than Aira’s Sar Mayee. One would have thought Aira’s tribe would be the weakest because majority of them are girls – add Trizsa to that!

Trizsa, anyway, was sat out by his tribe for that challenge (Magan sat Solenn out). We thought it was a wrong move because after all, Trizsa is still a man, and they need manpower to row that boat.

But we were wrong. Sar Mayee is the second to finish the puzzle ladder and the second to put their flag in its corresponding stand on the platform.

So Nagar and Sar Mayee took back to their camp half of the Immunity Idol each. Magan, the powerful dragon, will be at the next Tribal Council.

We can almost smell who’s going home. But really, there won’t be unity in Magan until Doc Ferds is there. Let Buwi rule the tribe please. Imagine Doc Ferds correcting Buwi even while the latter is praying? What does he care if Buwi wants to pray to the elements?

If the members of Magan use their mind right, they should really vote out Doc Ferds. Let the veterinarian go back to taking care of his patients.

SPCS E07: Divided Into Three

It’s the CA’s first ever Reward Challenge. But before that, they are divided into three tribes with Buhawi Meneses, Aira Bermudez, and Jon Hall as tribe leaders.

It is done in a schoolyard pick where the leader picks one member then that member picks another, and so on. Since Buhawi was the first one declared as tribe leader when he won the very first challenge, he has the privilege to choose a member first. Aira follows, then Jon. But it is done in an alternate way so it’s not so bad.

Surprisingly, though, Buhawi pics Solenn Heussaff first. What he sees in Solenn? He says she’s a quiet worker. Oh well, but anyone in his right mind would pick Elma Muros (the fastest woman in Asia), or Ferds Recio (a vet and also an able leader as what he has shown in the previous episodes). Even Jon is surprised that Buhawi didn’t pick Doc Ferds first. But then both the vet and the fastest woman eventually go to Buhawi’s tribe so there are really no regrets.

Anyway, Buhawi’s tribe is named Magan (green). His members are Solenn, Doc Ferds, Elma, Mico Aytona, and Myka Flores.

Aira’s tribe gets the yellow color of Sar Mayee. She has Akihiro Sato, Aubrey Miles, Ervic Vijandre, Karen delos Reyes, and Pretty Trizsa.

Jon, the last to be hailed tribe leader, gets the fiery red color of Nagar. He first chooses Moi Marcampo because he knows how skilled Piolo Pascual’s yaya is, then Moi gets Ahron Villena. Michelle Madrigal and Ian Batherson follow.

The Reward Challenge is called Tulak ng Bibig. The teams are lined up with the leader in front of the line. The leader will do the dirty job of searching the big bowl of soup for the body parts of animals that the host will dictate. Kinda easy, no? But the leaders will search the bowl with their mouth, goggles in place and hands tied up behind them. Once found, the leader will then pass it on to the next team member in line waiting not far behind. They will relay it on until it reaches the last team member who will then be responsible for bringing the animal part to the waiting container sitting on top of a table a few feet behind them.

Since Jon has only four members in Nagar, Magan and Sar Mayee have to sit out one member each. Magan sits Myka out, while Sar Mayee chooses Akihiro.

The first body part asked is dila ng baboy (pig’s tongue). Nagar easily wins it, with Moi at the end of the line. After 6 body parts, the three tribes have 2 wins each. Richard calls for a tie breaker and asks for intestines. Nagar and Sar Mayee go neck-to-neck. Karen, who, just like Moi, is the last in Sar Mayee’s line, does her best to reach the container first but still falls short on the faster Moi.

The Nagar Tribe wins with a score of 3 beating Magan and Sar Mayee with 2 points each.

The winning tribe gets stuff that will help them in their camp life – stuff for their shelter, bolo, big pot and water container, and, most importantly, a big amount of rice. The two other teams also get a consolation prize of posporo (matches), small pot, small water container, bolo, and a little amount of rice. Nothing for building their shelter but I’m sure Buhawi with Doc Ferds and Elma can improvise something, as well as Aira, Akihiro, Ervic, and Karen in the other tribe..

Richard tells the three tribes that they are now going to their individual camps. But before that, the leaders will have to choose one member each to be sent to Isla Misteryo – an exile island. The Magan Tribe chooses Solenn, Sar Mayee chooses Akihiro, and Nagar chooses Michelle.

That’s bad move for Sar Mayee Tribe, though. With Akihiro gone, that leaves Ervic to be the only male force in the tribe. How on earth can they build a decent shelter with Akihiro gone? Trizsa is also male but we know how he just sits there and either talk or sleep. Oh, well, Akihiro will be back after a day. Sar Mayee sleeping uncomfortably for another night is, I think, just okay. But honestly? I think they should’ve sent Trizsa to Isla Misteryo first.

I’m excited, though, for our hot models – Solenn and Akihiro – being in the exile island together. I’m sure they won’t be making alliances with Michelle because everyone knows/suspects she already has an ongoing alliance with boyfriend Jon. But will Solenn and Aki come up with a sort of agreement and become alliances? Or will they become a little more friendly and… Oops, I forgot, this is Survivor Philippines on Philippine tv. Nothing like that will happen, at least not in the near future.

SPCS E06: Moi and Jon Get Shaved

Tonight’s episode is exciting, indeed. After Jon Hall was declared the third tribe leader, Richard Gutierrez brings out a hundred thousand pesos and a challenge for all of them.

The challenge: shaving of hair for the girls, and shaving of hair, eyebrows, and body hairs for the guys.

Moi Marcampo is the only one among the girls to take the challenge. But there are quite a number of guys willing to get the prize, because aside from the hundred thousand pesos, there’s also those two Immunity Bracelets that are at stake – one for each gender.

Since more than one boy are willing to take the challenge, Richard gives them a pre-qualifying round that involves making of fire with a flint to eventually burn a string. Jon, Buhawi Meneses, and Pretty Trizsa are the first three to try the pre-qualifying round. Jon is able to burn his string even before Buhawi and Trizsa are able to make fire.

Perhaps seeing from the first batch how hard it is to make fire, other contenders have changed their minds and do not want to do the challenge anymore, which leaves Ferds Rencio to battle it out with Jon Hall. Jon seems to really have the skill because he is able to burn his string again before even our Born to Be Wild host is able to make his fire.

When it is Moi’s turn to be shaved, Myka Flores shows her desire to battle it out so the two also do the pre-qualifying round. But it is really for Moi because just like with the boys, she is able to finish the challenge even before Myka can make fire with her flint.

Richard treats the castaways with pizza before he calls the barber to do the shaving. Moi doesn’t look bad at all. Jon, though, looks a little awkward with no eyebrows. Oh, well, no one I know looks good with shaved eyebrows, by the way.

Back at the camp, Elma Muros wakes up to the sound of Myka crying due to the cold. It’s raining and they have to sleep with only their raincoats to protect themselves from the water. Myka says she only joined Survivor Philippines because she wants to be able to help her siblings – stuff that also makes Elma cry under her raincoat. Sensing the drama going on, Buhawi comforts Myka and eventually cries, too.

Okay, primetime drama. But Myka doing it? IDK.

The celebs decide to barbeque one of the four chickens. They are like gonna be divided into three tribes and each of there are still three chickens left – one for each tribe. It’s just gonna be a prob if there were still four. How are they to divide four chickens into three tribes, btw?

So they eat chicken at Day 4. Karen delos Reyes doesn’t eat chicken but Akihiro Sato proves himself a hero (to Karen) when he goes back to the camp from somewhere bringing a little bag of crabs.

After the meal, the girls, with Trizsa, do a little fashion show with improvised costumes from fragments of the gowns they were wearing when they got there. Trizsa, being a stand-up comedian, was so funny in introducing the “contestants” although Karen delos Reyes got a little mad because of the “weed” thing. Trizsa says something like “The next contestant was a former endorser of a fast food chain and now loves weeds.”

Meanwhile, Akihiro with Doc Ferds go to the woods and are able to bring coconuts back to camp. They are also able to find a clean body of water for the castaways to wash up in.

Aubrey Miles believe that Karen and Aira have this alliance going on. Mico and Ervic also talk about not letting each other down. Solenn, on the other hand, still has no real alliance.

SPCS E05: Tribe Leaders

The celebrity castaways are able to gather enough shells, crabs, and clams that they put it in an improvised pot made out of a bamboo culm, courtesy of Ferds Recio. After cooking their loot a little under the fire, they gather around it, pray, and eat together as if eating shells are what they normally do. They have no choice, though, and little shells are better than nothing at all.

Karen delos Reyes finds a tree mail and read it:

Sa kabilang isla may regalo para sa inyo,
Dalhin ang buong tribo at pagsaluhan ang mga ito.

As excited as they are with food and the word “pagsaluhan” seems like food, some of them guess that it could be another challenge involving eating of live insects. They are wrong, though, because when they reached the island, they find out that there are five live chickens scattered around the mangrove for them to catch.

Elma Muros caught the first one, followed by Doc Ferds. Jon Hall easily snatched the third one sitting on a tree branch. They can’t catch one of the chickens, so they settle with just four. Those chickens mean a lot to them. They haven’t had “real meat” (as Doc Ferds put it) since they arrived at the camp.

The castaways face their first Tribal Council. They light their torches and the host Richard Gutierrez notifies them of the one unlit torch which belongs to Princess Snell. He officially tells the castaways that Princess has already given up the fight.

Moving on, Buhawi Meneses receives a green arm band. It represents his being a Tribe Leader, the reward he got from winning the first challenge.

Aira Bermudez, being the second winner of that same challenge, is asked to read her scroll. It says:

Ang pinuno ng tribo ay magiging tatlo
Ang hinirang na una at ang ikalawa’y ang may hawak ng scroll na ‘to.
Ngayong gabi, walang uuwi,
Sa halip ang ikatlong sanga ang mapipili.

And as Aira’s scroll says, she is also a Tribe Leader. She gets a yellow arm band to symbolize her leadership.

Since Aira’s scroll tells them so, the castaways start voting for the third tribe leader. Myka Flores, it seems, does not understand what they are being asked to vote for. She writes the name of Pretty Trizsa, whom she had an argument earlier when they were catching the chickens. With no leadership qualities, even Trizsa can’t help but smile when his name was called by Richard Gutierrez. His name being read also elicits random laughter from the castaways. Trizsa then turns to the direction of Myka and says, “I’m sure ‘yan ‘yung binoto mo,” and Myka makes it so obvious by looking down and covering her face with her hands. The castaways laugh harder while Richard tells them to settle down.

At the end of the counting, Trizsa has 1 vote, Elma has 2, Doc Ferds 5, and Jon Hall 8. There’s a missing unread vote but it doesn’t make sense to read anymore because Jon already has the majority of the votes.

So Jon Hall, by choice of majority of the celebrity castaways, is the third Tribe Leader.

But the castaways are not going back to the camp just yet, because Richard wants to make that first Tribal Council more interesting. And because of that, it will surely be an interesting episode on Monday.

Don’t forget to catch Monday’s episode right after 24 Oras. Only on GMA-7.

SPCS E04: Princess Backs Out

Princess Snell talks to the castaways’ psychologist Dr. Ali Gui, and she tells the doctor that she really can’t bear the fact that there’s no food to eat and the harder part of doing challenges with an empty stomach. She wants to quit, reasoning that there’s no point in suffering another night of no food when she can quit now.

The celebrity castaways find no Princess at the camp the following morning. They all know the princess has quit, although they all have their own guesses of the reason behind the back-out.

Anyway, it seems that three of the castaways want to lead the tribe. Buhawi Meneses is the rightful leader because the scroll he won says so, but Ferds Recio seem to be at it since Day 1, being one of the hosts of Born To Be Wild, a show about the outdoors, and all that, he seems to know it all. But then again, there’s also Jon Hall who has the skills of a tribe leader but he can’t seem to understand that Buhawi is tasked to be the leader. In Jon’s words: “They stepped up already as leaders. Hindi ko alam kung dahil sa scroll na nakalagay mayor na s’ya… Doc from Day 1 gusto n’ya maging leader." Oh yes, Jon, Buwi stepped up as leader because it says so in the scroll. Although, he’s right about Doc Ferds – feeling boss.

Buhawi calls up everyone that morning to tell them of his plans, or should we say of Doc Ferds’ plans. They have to divide themselves into 3 groups. Each group takes care of one of the three important things in their camp life – food, shelter, and fire.

Myka Flores immediately volunteers to be in the food group, handpicking Aira Bermudez, Moi Marcampo, and Elma Muros as fellow group members. The boys in turn plan to make a real shelter this time. Good thing because as Solenn Heussaff puts it, they “were really depressed from the second night” because they only have the soil to sleep on, and only the leaves thrown over the branches of a tree as their shield from the rain.

Buhawi finds a snake under a tree and he calls Jon because he knows Jon “wanted to see wildlife.” Jon comes over with a bolo and without warning hit on the snake a number of times. The snake, though, is able to climb up the tree and hide.

Jon is already making alliance with the boys but since Michelle Madrigal is his girlfriend, Doc Ferds knows they (the boys) are dehado at that point. Of course his girlfriend will ally with him so he (Jon) will know what’s happening on the side of the girls. On the other hand, Jon’s ex-girlfriend Aubrey Miles and the stand-up comedian Pretty Trizsa is now starting to talk about who to vote out. With the Tribal Council scheduled the following day, they have to know who to vote out. Aubrey believes that they should not vote out the strong ones just yet. It’s too early in the game. Trizsa, though, wants to boot out the physically strong ones this early. Little does he know that the boys are planning to vote him out. It could have been Princess, but since she’s gone now, it’s Trizsa they want to get rid off first.

Anyway, I think Aubrey and Trizsa will make a good alliance along with Karen delos Reyes and Moi. I can see Nanay Zita’s (SP 1) character in Elma, though, and Kiko Rustia (also of SP 1) in Doc Ferds (they’re co-hosts in Born To Be Wild, anyway). But really, I hope Buhawi stops trying to speak English, and Jon, Tagalog.

Tomorrow, the celebrity castaways will experience their first Tribal Council. Will someone be eliminated? Or is Princess’ decision to back-out enough boot for their first three days? Be sure to watch tomorrow’s episode on GMA-7, right after 24 Oras.

SPCS E03: 4 Elements, 2 Winners

Richard Gutierrez explains the two kinds of challenges in Survivor Philippines - the Reward Challenge, which will make their life in the game easier, and the Immunity Challenge, which can make them stay longer in the game. But for now, the celebrity castaways face their first ever challenge called Apat na Elemento which calls for two winners.

The game involves the four elements of nature (apat na elemento) – earth, wind, water, and fire.

On Richard’s signal, the castaways will climb a wall where upon reaching the top, will have to jump (air leg) towards the cargo net, roll to the far end and jump down to the ground. They will then run towards the mud pit (water leg) where they will have to get three rings of the same color buried in the mud. After collecting the rings, they will run across a fire pit (fire leg) where flaming coals await their feet. After the fire pit, they will shoot the rings into a pole and they have to shoot all three. If one misses, he will have to go back to the mud pit and look for more rings of the same color as the first ones he got, run across the fire pit again and try to shoot the ring into the pole until he gets to shoot three rings of the same color (land leg). After that, they will have to run into the final platform where a flag is waiting to be raised. There are two flags on the platform, the first two castaways to get there first win the challenge

Buhawi Meneses is the first to get three rings from the mud pit. He is able to shoot the first two into the pole but misses on the third. Other castaways are able to get three rings from the mud but are also unsuccessful to shoot all three.

After much going back to the mud pit, Buhawi is able to shoot his final ring. He runs to the final platform, raises his flag, and is declared as the winner. Moral boost much, being the first ever winner of the first ever challenge of the season.

After some time, Sex Bomb Dancer Aira Bermudez finally shoots her third and final ring into the pole. She runs to the platform and raises her flag.

Buhawi is the first one to receive his scroll. Richard instructs him to open the scroll and read it. It says: “Ikaw na siyang nanguna ang siyang mamumuno ng tribo, mula ngayon hanggang sa tinakdang araw.” Thus explains why he is tagged as the “Tribe Leader.”

Aira receives her scroll next, and is informed that she can only open it during the Tribal Council.

Princess Snell, on the other hand, is the last to climb the wall. She is even still on the cargo net by the time Aira became the second winner. In a confessional, Princess says all she can think about during the challenge is food. She is starved then, but aren’t all of them hungry? Anyway, she also says something about not wanting to walk on fire and stuff so she really has no intention of winning the challenge.

Princess keeps to herself, not wanting to join the other celebs, the night after the challenge, while her fellow StarStruck V Avenger Ian Batherson is having fun in the comedy skit Pretty Trizsa has thought of. In the skit, Ian is the husband of Aubrey Miles and Pretty Trizsa is his mistress. Aubrey catches the two in the act and the story goes on until more castaways join in as this and that character. Solenn Heussaff is doing something else and is not able to join the “aktingan” but in a confessional she says about Ian, “Everyone was making fun of him kasi medyo bading ‘yong acting…”

Anyway, a teaser for tomorrow’s episode shows Princess crying and saying it’s the first time in her life she ever got tired. Also, a male voice, perhaps in a confessional, is narrating how Princess just sits around while everyone is busy working. And lastly, Karen delos Reyes’s voice is heard saying, “Wala akong pakialam kay Princess kasi she’s gonna be a pain in the ***…”

SPCS E02: Mosquitoes and Rainy Night

The celebrity castaways, with the fire and temporary shelter, starts hunting for food. They find just a few oysters which they are already thankful for because there is really nothing to eat. As Mico Aytona says, he won’t really eat those oysters if he had a choice, but for someone who has nothing to eat, those oysters taste so delicious. Unfortunately, Solenn Heussaff has allergies with oysters so she doesn’t eat.

Night falls and it starts to rain. The celebs find it hard to sleep under the make-shift roof even with their raincoats on. They also have to protect their fire from getting wet and burning out. The realization of the true nature of the game somehow sinks in with most of them. It is just their first night and they have to sleep under a leaking roof, with raincoats on, fire to protect, and mosquitoes that won’t go away.

Ian Batherson, confessing he has been a city slicker all his life and has never camped when he was little, says he’s so prone to mosquito bites because he claims that his blood is sweet. He calls living like that for 36 days crazy.

Since there’s no drinking water, the rain has somewhat been a blessing. Mico relates in a confessional how Ferds Recio, Buhawi Meneses, and him drank rainwater through their raincoats.

Solenn and Aubrey Miles in separate confessionals complain how noisy some of their fellow castaways are during the night. Aubrey even drops the name of Myka Flores to be so talkative.

In the morning Moi Marcampo, Myka, and Buhawi go looking for food and they find crabs. It’s not enough for all of them, though, so not everyone is able to eat.

Aubrey and Jon Hall, ex-lovers as they are, avoids talking to each other. Aubrey says she respects Jon and Michelle Madrigal’s relationship and understands how Michelle feels that’s why she avoids talking her boyfriend. Jon, on the other hand, seems bitter saying that he doesn’t know why Aubrey is part of the reality show. “[Is] she here for, to try and win? To try and play? Or [is] she here just for exposure and wasting another spot that somebody else could use?” says Jon in a confessional.

The celebs get their first tree mail. In his poor Tagalog, Ian tries to read it but Michelle re-reads it in her perfect Tagalog just so everyone understands the mail clearly.

Tubig, apoy, lupa at hangin
Ang apat na elemento ay pagsama-samahin
Ipunin ang lakas, ipunin ang galing
Dahil ang kasama ay kalaban ninyo na rin.
