Joanna Pacitti's American Idol Season 8 audition stirred some buzz among the viewers, specifically those who know her. They say Pacitti is "big enough" to still be accepted as one of the contestants.
It actually also happened during the past season when at least two of the contestants (Carly Smithson, Kristy Lee Cook) had already released albums prior to the audition. Smithson, though, had a flopped music career as her album reportedly only sold more or less 300 copies. Likewise, Cook had only been performing on a cowboy nightclub before she decided to audition.
Pacitti's case is kind of different for she has quite a number of songs featured on movie soundtracks such as Legally Blonde (Watch Me Shine), Bratz (Out From Under), First Daughter, and Nancy Drew. Out From Under was even re-recorded by Britney Spears and was included in her latest album, Circus.
She has a 2006 album, This Crazy Life, and has dated Mark Ballas of Dancing With The Stars.
