"Pasion De Amor: Director's Cut" marathon on TFC.tv

The highly anticipated remake of worldwide telenovela sensation “Pasion De Amor” will continue to heat up as The Filipino Channel’s (TFC) official online service, TFC.tv unveils “Pasion De Amor: Director’s Cut Marathon” starting next week, June 22, Monday (Manila time).

TFC.tv brings its worldwide viewers an exclusive full-viewing experience with additional and extended scenes of the well-received telenovela adaptation.  After its premiere on June 1, it already gained a following among Filipino viewers when it hit a Philippine TV rating of 20.7% beating the rival programs of other networks, as reported by Kantar Media Philippines (television audience measurement provider).  The local adaptation is also one of the most watched programs worldwide based on the hits generated via TFC.tv.  With the director’s cut, TFC.tv anticipates to entice more viewers.

'Crazy Beautiful You' extended in US, Canada theaters, starts screenings in Europe, gets ready for Asia Pacific and Middle East

The celebrated youthful Filipino love team of Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla – whose celebrity portmanteau is “KathNiel” – flexed some serious muscle at the box office via Star Cinema’s "Crazy Beautiful You" which was brought to theaters worldwide by TFC@theMovies this month.

The film – subtitled in English in its international version – has already grossed Ph225 million in the Philippines as of March 9.  Following its impressive theatrical run in the US and Canada where it opened last March 6 in over 40 theaters, the film’s run has been extended in North America with 10 new theatres showing the movie.

Star Cinema and TFC@TheMovies bring 2015's highest grossing Filipino film to Australia and New Zealand this March

ABS-CBN’s Teen King Daniel Padilla and Teen Queen Kathryn Bernardo will prove it is okay to be crazy, beautiful, and in love at the same time as they return to the big screen in Star Cinema’s latest offering, “Crazy Beautiful You” which will be shown by The Filipino Channel (TFC) through TFC@theMovies, to Kapamilyas in Australia and New Zealand starting this March 19, Thursday.

Fans in the Philippines raved about the movie, claiming it to be the tandem’s most honest and most kilig movie to date.  With their fans’ feedback, it did not come as a surprise that the movie opened with record-breaking receipts last February 25.  The KathNiel starrer earned a total gross of P32 million on its opening day alone.  A recent update from abs-cbnnews.com also announced that after just five days, the movie already reached the P100 million mark in the box office with a reaped total gross of P110 million.

Pacquiao all set to defend WBO Welterweight title against Algieri

Sporting fans around the world are anticipating the biggest boxing match of the year as Fighter of the Decade Manny “Pacman” Pacquiao goes head to head with New York’s (U.S.A.) undefeated World Boxing Organization (WBO) Junior Welterweight Champion Chris Algieri to defend his WBO Welterweight Title on Saturday, November 22 at the Cotai Arena, Venetian Resort, Macau, China.  The match dubbed “Hunger for Glory” will unfold on The Filipino Channel (TFC) via Pay-Per-View (PPV) on November 23 at 6 a.m. Dubai time and 5 a.m. Saudi time and at 1 p.m. Australia Daylight Savings Time [ADST] and 3 p.m. New Zealand Daylight Savings Time [NZDT]).

As boxing’s eight-division world champion with an astounding record of 56 wins, and five losses with three knock-outs, Pacquiao is an early bet to win against newcomer Algieri, dubbed by netizens as the ‘heavy underdog’ despite his record of 20 wins with eight knock-outs and 0 losses.  Algieri may have the height and reach advantage with his 5-feet-10 stance and maximum reach of 72 inches but professional referees and analysts believe this figure will not hinder the Filipino champ’s speed and foot work.  Pacquiao stands 5-feet-6 in height and has a maximum reach of 67-inches.

'EDSA Woolworth' music video featuring Summer Breeze's 'Dressing Room'

One of the many little things that will linger in the minds of the moviegoers when they watch TFC@theMovies’ second film offering, EDSA Woolworth, is the music soundtrack.  There are four Filipino American artists whose original works are featured in this precious and unique family movie for the holidays.  One of them is Summer Breeze a.k.a. producer-singer-songwriter-musician Amiel Maquilan, based in South San Francisco, California, whose song, “Dressing Room (Blessed Me With You)”, is a beautiful, memorable, and proudly Filipino composition that will mesmerize viewers of said movie.

Summer Breeze is a youtube sensation managed by The Luna Co.  His music videos, showing acoustic soul, pop, jazz and R&B influences, have drawn over 6 million views combined on YouTube, which propelled him to travel and perform in the San Francisco Bay Area, Los Angeles, Oregon, the Midwest, Canada and the Philippines.  He has shared the stage with the Bay Area’s number one FilAm R&B group Legaci (who performed as back-up singers for Justin Bieber) and with international superstars, Black Eyed Peas.

Gary Valenciano headlines TFC's 20th anniversary celebration in Guam

In celebration of The Filipino Channel’s (TFC) 20 years in the service of Pinoys worldwide, the premier Filipino network sets another momentous gathering that highlights the “Galing ng Filipino” (Greatness of Filipinos) through the salient characteristic of kabutihan or kindness.  As part of the year-long celebration of the network’s anniversary, a meaningful event for a cause is all set with the “Galing ng Filipino: A TFC 20 Celebration” happening on the 8th of November, Saturday at the University of Guam Fieldhouse.

ABS-CBN’s The Filipino Channel (TFC) explores the rich and varied stories of Pinoy expatriates in Europe in a new, monthly magazine program, Juan EU Konek.


Airing every first Sunday of the month on TFC in Europe and Middle East and on TFC.tv worldwide, Juan EU Konek brings to life the passions, adventures and success stories of the Filipinos in Europe, in a 45-minute program hosted by ABS-CBN Europe’s news team of seasoned journalists –Danny Buenafe, Rose Eclarinal and Gene Alcantara.

Pokwang stars in 'Ms. Edsa Woolworth'

After winning international critical acclaim for her powerful performance in the drama, “A Mother’s Story”, which garnered 18 FAMAS nominations in 2012, actress-comedienne Pokwang was tapped anew by TFC@theMovies to star in its second film offering, Ms Edsa Woolworth.


According to film director John-D Lazatin, who also received a FAMAS nomination for his direction of “A Mother’s Story,” shooting for the new family romantic comedy film will begin this May in the U.S.

‘ASAP’ to conquer Dubai this Friday!

TFC brings 'ASAP' to Dubai!

Filipino Channel (TFC) welcomes 2014 with a bang as it brings its longest-running and top-rating musical show, “ASAP Live in Dubai” to the entertainment capital of the Middle East on January 24, Friday at 4 p.m. and 9 p.m. at the Dubai Festival City.


TFC, the top-of-mind network of Filipinos outside the homeland, promises to deliver yet another history-making event with no less than the most widely followed musical show in the Philippines that features the biggest names in the entertainment industry. ‘Magkaribal’ sub-titled version begins airing on TFC this December

The cat fight between archenemies Victoria (played by Gretchen Barretto) and Vera (Angel Aquino) transcends the battle for fashion supremacy as Victoria unintentionally drives Louie (Derek Ramsey) to the arms of her sister and Vera’s ward, Gelay (Bea Alonzo) on Magkaribal’s sub-titled version for non-Filipino speaking viewers on The Filipino Channel (TFC) this December.

For the opening salvo of TFC’s Sub-titled Classics presents Magkaribal this December, (December 7, Saturday, Riyadh time) worldwide, Louie is seen to have accepted the challenge to fight in an event organized by self-proclaimed fashion queen Vera, for client Alexander Jacob.  At the fight, Victoria gets the surprise of her life when she discovers that fighter Markado is actually Louie, her one true love.  Shocked, Victoria runs off to the comfort room where she first finds out about Louie and Gelay’s seemingly budding romance from gossiping ladies.  The rumors are proven wrong however, by Louie’s sudden proposal to Victoria for marriage.

New characters on TFC’s subtitled version of ‘Be Careful With My Heart’

The excitement builds up as new television characters are introduced in the well-loved series “Be Careful With My Heart’s” sub-titled series on The Filipino Channel (TFC) this November.

While television sweetheart Maya (played by Jodi Sta. Maria) tries to hide her feelings for her employer Ser Chief (Richard Yap), the former starts to open up to his feelings for his hired help.  Naturally straight-faced and stoic, Ser Chief is shaken when he learns of Simon (Paul Jake Castillo), Maya’s former suitor, during the first week on November 2 (November 3 in Australia, Guam, Japan, New Zealand).   Ser Chief, in a fit of jealousy masked by anger, scolds Maya for leaving Abby to Ser Chief’s visiting friend Raffy (Maricar Reyes), just to see Simon.
