Who will play Valentina in ABS-CBN's Darna series?

The production for ABS-CBN's TV series adaptation of Mars Ravelo's Darna has already started. It has Jane De Leon in the title role. But the question on who will play the main villain, Valentina, still hangs.

In the past, the role of Valentina was portrayed in the movies by top calibre acresses - Cristina Aragon (Darna, 1951), Celia Rodriguez (Lipad, Darna, Lipad, 1973), Melissa Perez Rubio (Valentina, 1989), Pilar Pilapil (Darna, 1991), and Pilita Corales (Darna: Ang Pagbabalik, 1994). In the 1994 movie, Valentina had a daughter named Valentine (portrayed by Cherie Gil) who also had snakes on her head. The most recent Valentina was Alessandra de Rossi in GMA-7's TV series adaptation in 2005.

Meanwhile, the names of Janine Gutierrez, Yassi Pressman, Jackie Rice and Ivana Alawi are among those rumored to play Valentina in the Kapamilya adaptation of Darna. It would actually be a legacy to Janine if ever she bags the role because her lola Pilita portrayed the villainess in 1994. But will the "winner" be among those four actresses? After all, Jane Oineza's name is also being tagged on social media as the next Valentina.
