A magnitude 5.2 earthquake hit Cagayan on Saturday, February 24, 2018.
Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) recorded the earthquake at exactly 7:02:22 PM with epicenter located 119 kilometers (km) northwest of Calayan.
The quake was tectonic in origin and had a depth of 55 km.
No intensities were recorded.
According to the Phivolcs bulletin, aftershocks are not expected to occur.
