Khandelwal succeeded Mr. World 2014, Denmark's Nicklas Pedersen, who was there to pass on the title.
Besting 45 other men from around the globe, he got into the Top 10 by winning the Multimedia Challenge which was a fast track event.
Other challenge event winners include Mr. Scotland Tristan Cameron Harper (Extreme Challenge), Mr. England Chris Bramell (Sports Challenge), Mr. China Chang Zhoucheng (Style and Fashion Challenge), and Mr. Poland Rafal Jonkisz (Talent Challenge).
Joining them in the Top 10 were Mr. El Salvador David Arias, Mr. Kenya Kevin Owiti, Mr. Brazil Lucas Montadon, Mr. Puerto Rico Fernando Alvarez, and Mr. Mexico Aldo Esparza.
Both Jonkisz and Alvarez have been in the Philippines as contestants in the Mister International 2015 which was held in the country.
Along with Khandelwal, Alvarez also made it as Mr. World 2016 finalist together with Esparza, Owiti and Bramell.
Alvarez and Esparza were eventually named as second and third place respectively.
Mr. World 2016 finals night was hosted by Miss World 2013 Megan Young, former Mr. England Jordan Williams and Mr. World Canada 2013 Frankie Cena.
