[PBB Double Up] Goodbye Kath!

Kathleen Lopena-Ortega, popularly known as Mommy Kath, was evicted in tonight's live episode of Pinoy Big Brother Double Up.

She was welcomed to the "outside world" by her husband and ex-PBB Double Up housemate Jimson Ortega.

A big twist was announced after Kath's eviction, and it regarded the number of housemates that will compete in the Big Night. The originally final 4 housemates (dubbed as the Big 4) will now be 5!

So with only 6 housemates left, only one more will be evicted next Saturday.

Melai, on the other hand, can now breathe a little easier because she had earned a spot in the Big 5 through the series of competitions prepared by Big Brother.

But who among Tibo, Paul Jake, Johan, Mariel, and Jason will be evicted next week and not have a chance to be the Big Winner? Make sure to vote for your bets!

"Miss You Like Crazy"

After a successful pre-Valentine movie "Paano Na Kaya?" Star Cinema has another sure-hit movie that's set to hit the theaters after Valentine's Day, February 24th.

"Miss You Like Crazy" is the reunion movie of John Lloyd Cruz and Bea Alonzo after not doing anything together for some time. John Lloyd had been paired with Sarah Geronimo in two blockbusters which proved the fact that he could draw moviegoers whoever he was paired with.

With fans long-awaiting the return of Bea and John Lloyd's loveteam, not to mention the fact that John Lloyd is really a very good actor, it can then be said that this movie will surely be a hit.

Marian and Dingdong on Yes! Feb 2010

Marian Rivera and Dingdong Dantes are on the cover of Yes! magazine's February issue.

They look so happy together, not to mention the fact that Dingdong has become more gwapo recently. He's actually better to watch than Richard Gomez as Family Feud's host.

[PBB Double Up] Sharon Cuneta Visits

Waving a white flag ahead of her, the megastar Sharon Cuneta entered the PBB House to "bond" with the housemates. She came bearing a basketfull of food because she "heard" what the housemates were going through. Most importantly, the megastar's main goal was to tell the housemates not to lose hope.

Ex-housemate and part of the resbak team, Delio was having second thoughts on sabotaging the remaining housemates. He was touched mostly when Jason gave him some of his clothes.

The resbak team tried to hit the towers made of domino pieces at the center of the pool, but they were heavily guarded mostly by Tibo.

Tibo, Johan, Kath, and Hermes are nominated this week. Be sure to support your bets by voting for them or by voting against the housemates that you don't like.

Showtime - The Return

"Showtime" returns on air today as the temporary suspension given by the MTRCB was lifted. The return was announced yesterday towards the end of the last episode of "Magpasikat" which made the hosts of the show teary-eyed with joy. "Magpasikat" was the show that temporarily replaced "Showtime" for a week while it was suspended.

ABS-CBN's official statement regarding the matter (issued yesterday):
ABS-CBN is happy to announce that the talent-variety program "Showtime" will return on-air starting tomorrow, 19 Jan 2010, following the issuance of a temporary restraining order by the Court of Appeals enjoining the MTRCB from continuing to enforce the preventive suspension order on the show.

We welcome the CA resolution dated 15 January 2010, which states: "For reasons afore-stated, and as prayed for by petitioner, let a TEMPORARY RESTRAINING ORDER be issued, as it is hereby issued, effective sixty (60) days from notice hereof, enjoining respondent MTRCB, including any and all persons acting in their behalf and under their command and authority, from continuing to enforce the Preventive Suspension Order dated January 11, 2010 issued against petitioner, pending the resolution of the instant petition."

Vice Ganda, who acted as one of the hosts in "Magpasikat" returns to his seat as one of the judges together with Andrew E, Joy Viado, Wyngard Tracy, and Karla Henry.

[PBB Double Up] Tibo, Johan, Kath, and Hermes are Nominated

Hermes, Tibo, Johan, and Kath are nominated this week. But I think people would be busy voting against either Hermes or Johan. I don't like both of them. But if I were to choose between the two, I'd vote against Johan. Yabang!

Tibo and Johan got the highest number of points from among the housemates with 5 points each, while Kath got 4. Meanwhile, Hermes was the kulelat in their weekly task and he chose to be automatically nominated instead of giving 3 points against the housemate of his choice. If I were him, I would have given those 3 points to Johan. But don't you think he automatically nominated himself because he wanted to be with Cathy outside already?

[StarStruck] Judges Use Factor 2

Bottom 3 consisted of Nina, Rocco, and Sarah. Nina was declared safe, thus, leaving Rocco and Sarah at the bottom. I was personally confused as to where the show would go if either of the two was sent home.

I'm an Ian fan but I must admit it won't hurt me one bit if Rocco becomes the Ultimate Male. Likewise, I'm a fan of Rox but Sarah and Diva are my bets to win the competition.

During the early part of the episode, the judges were asked if they thought they'd use the Factor 3 tonight. And they said no. Factor 2 is their ability to stop the elimination, thus, saving the one who was destined to be evicted.

When Nina was declared safe, the judges were again asked if they'd use the Factor 2. And luckily for Rocco and Sarah, the judges changed their minds. They used their ability to save, therefore, no one was eliminated tonight.

[PBB Double Up] Cathy Remperas is Evicted

Cathy Remperas was booted out of the PBB House tonight after getting the lowest percentage of the combined evict and save votes. She got –13.54% and that means her haters are 13.54% more than those who love her.

Melai got the highest percentage of votes with 31.86% followed by Tibo who got 2.32%. Melai and Tibo were the only ones who got positive total scores. The three other nominees all got negative results - Mariel got -3.55% and Hermes got -10.43%.

Cathy didn't go out of the house yet, though. She just transferred to House B and was later joined by ex-housemates Princess, Delio, Tom, Yuri, Rob, Patrick, and Rica for the Resbak Attack.

Eight ex-housemates against the eight remaining housemates. As Rica said, they're prolly there to bring out the beauty or the beast in the remaining housemates.

"Magpasikat" Temporarily Replaces "Showtime"

To temporarily replace Showtime while it is suspended for 20 days, ABS-CBN came up with Magpasikat, a variety/talent/game show that features celebrities showcasing their talents. Like Showtime, the new show has judges that were carried over from the judging panel of yesterday's episode of Showtime - Andrew E, Karla Henry, Joy Viado, and Wyngard Tracy. Meanwhile, instead of judging, Vice Ganda was made to host the show along with the regular hosts Anne Curtis, Vhong Navarro, and Kim Atienza.

Another difference of Magpasikat from Showtime is that in the latter, all the groups go against one another. In Magpasikat there are 2 sets of 2 groups each. The first set of groups will go head to head and be compared against each other. The second set of 2 groups will do the same. The judges then will pick who they think is the better group. But in the end, all four groups go onstage while one winning group is declared.

There's also an added game called Who U? where they call random contestants from the audience and put into sections 1 to 5. It's some sort of a quiz bee. A set of five contestants (each coming from the 5 different sections) will go against each other. The contestant who buzzes first will be given a chance to answer the question. If he answers correctly, the other four will go and will be replaced by waiting contestants from their corresponding sections. If his answer is wrong, though, he will go and the four others will stay. Likewise, he will be replaced by a waiting contestant from his section. The last remaining contestant wins but the prize of Php20,000 will have to be divided among the members of his section.

MTRCB Suspends Showtime for 20 Days

Oh, Showtime is suspended for 20 days starting today. Perhaps they're already regretting hiring Rossana Roces' services as a judge. Well, they suspended Osang after the incident but sadly, it's not enough for the MTRCB. Syempre, they should be responsible for everything that's happening.

Si Osang talaga. Pati mga teacher tinira. Palibhasa...

And just when everyone's enjoying Showtime, and just when Showtime is enjoying its highest ratings, Osang put it off air, albeit temporarily.

Watch the video that lead to the suspension below.

[PBB Double Up] Sam Pinto Goes Home

The very pretty Sam Pinto was evicted from the PBB House tonight for getting the lowest percentage of save votes compared to her fellow nominees Johan and Jason.

Sam only got 8.64% with her evict and save votes combined, while Johan barely had 2% margin with 10.19%. Jason got the highest votes with 34.46%.

We can say that his "friendship" with Melissa helped him a lot. Melissa somehow brought out the funny and tender side of Jason that people are beginning to love. Also, some voted for Jason just because they were Melissa's fans and they know that she would be lonely if Jason was evicted.

The campaigns against Jason of those who think that he was just using Melissa to stay in the house was pretty unsuccessful. Perhaps people still wanted to see the Melason loveteam still together inside the house.
But whatever the case may be - whether Jason is really in love with Melissa or he's just using her - one thing is for sure: Jason knows how to play this game.

[StarStruck] Surprise Tests

Broadcasting live from SM City North Edsa, the ten remaining StarStruck V Survivors danced for their fans at the opening of the show. It's just too bad for Rox who couldn't dance as much because of a) high heels; and b) tube dress. Perhaps they weren't the ones who chose their outfits cuz I'm sure she wouldn't pick that if she knew she'd be dancing and jumping.

The surprise acting test of the survivors with GMA-7's "primera contrabida," Glaiza de Castro, was aired. They went under the direction of Cannes Film Festival Best Director, Brillante Mendoza, for the film "Kinatay."

The girls did a drama scene with Glaiza entitled "Isang Umaga" where the survivors played the role of a girl who accidentally got pregnant while being sent to school by her sister (Glaiza) who works in a club. Well, "club" isn't such a bad term these days anymore, but it could be perceived that Glaiza's character works as a prostitute.

Knowing Glaiza, there was a lot of shouting and the survivors shouted back. But sadly, Glaiza ate them in whole. Personally, I liked Rox and Diva because they were able to deliver their lines well.

The male survivors, on the other hand, played a captive to an obsessed admirer played by Glaiza. I was laughing hard cuz everyone had a "bading" moment. Ian was shouting like a fag and Rocco's "ano ba?" was unforgettable. Sadly, Steven wasn't able to deliver at all.

Why they'd get contestants who could barely speak Tagalog when all the acting tests were in Tagalog, I really don't understand.

As expected, Steven and Nina were chosen the weakest in that challenge. Brillante Mendoza said that it's because Steven became limited to his dialogues (but of course) and Nina wasn't that motivated and was relying to her co-actor.

There was also a hosting test where Wilma Doesnt and Lucy Torres-Gomez played as guests. The survivors had their own antics but since it's a test, there were those who excelled and those who failed.

Wilma and Lucy named Nina and Steven to be the worst hosts. Now I'm curious where Steven will shine. He's not good in Tagalog and he's also not good in expressing himself in English?

Anyway, Lucy chose Ian and Piero as the best hosts for her, while Wilma chose Rocco for being intelligent. Lucy added that she also liked rox-star(?) but that makes me wonder if that's Ian (but she already picked him before that) who looked like a rockstar, or Rox. Rox's name might have reminded Lucy of the word rockstar. But I'm not so sure cuz they didn't flash either Ian or Rox's face when Lucy said that.

Kyla also played part in this episode by being the surprise celebrity duets of the survivors. Each had their individual pieces so it's kinda hard to compare. Although some of them really knows how to sing like Diva and Sarah among the girls and Steven and Piero among the boys. Steven, though, got tensed when he saw Kyla so the number didn't go well.

Kyla rated the survivors and Diva and Sarah both got a 9 from her, the highest score Kyla gave out. Both Rox and Nina got an 8 while Princess got the lowest score of 7.

Among the boys, Kyla chose Piero to give her highest of 8.5. Ian got an 8, Rocco a 7, and the lowest score of 6 went to Enzo and Steven.

Tomorrow is eviction night and not only 1 but 2 survivors will have to say goodbye. From how things went this week, Nina and Steven are at a risk to be voted out, especially by the judges Lolit Solis, Iza Calzado, and Floy Quintos.

It's not too late to cast your votes against the survivors you want evicted. Just type OUT and send to 367 for Smart and Talk 'N Text subscribers and 2344 for Globe, TM and Sun subscribers.

Pacquiao-Clottey Fight Set For March

After talks for a fight against Mayweather didn't push through, Manny Pacquiao's camp has turned to Ghanaian Joshua Clottey for a bout this March. Location for the fight is going to be announced on Monday.

Clottey beat Zab Judah of the U.S. in August 2008 for the IBF Welterweight title. Last June, though, he lost to Miguel Cotto of Puerto Rico.

The Pacquiao-Mayweather fight didn't push through because Pacquiao didn't give in to Mayweather's demand of random drug tests before and after the fight. He didn't want blood drawn from him 30 days before the bout due to superstitious/personal beliefs.

[PBB Double Up] Jason Bonds with Big Utol

Big Utol wanted to bond with the housemates so he called them one at a time inside his confession room. His kind of bonding was, of course, different from what Big Brother might have thought of. And I think it's the first time it had been done in a confession room.

Jason was first called to "bond" with Big Utol and the bad boy from Mindoro was surprised to see a table full of pulutan and gin bulag (the term he used when he told about it to his fellow housemates later).

If there's one thing that came out as significant in Big Utol and Jason's bonding moment, it's the confession that Jason was really in love with Melissa. It wasn't directly said, though. It started when Big Utol told Jason how he didn't like it when he hit Melissa with the ball, and Jason explained that he wouldn't really hurt Melissa because "mahal ko 'yon" but immediately changed it to "mahalaga sa 'kin 'yon." Big Utol also noticed how Jason lacked diskarte when it comes to Melissa, and Jason replied with "mahina nga ako sa ganyan, ‘pag serious love."

Tomorrow's episode is about the other housemates's bonding moments with Big Utol. Don't forget to watch it right after Dahil May Isang Ikaw.

[StarStruck] Hosting Test

The ten remaining StarStruck V Survivors had a surprise hosting test, and their guests - Wilma Doesn't and Lucy Torres-Gomez of the longest-running talk show on Q11, The Sweet Life.

Most of them didn't know what to do, especially that Wilma and Lucy was there on the purpose of distracting the survivors in their hosting job.

The survivors each had their own antics. But the two guests were seen standing up to leave while Enzo was still hosting, and Wilma said Sarah dared the wrong person in what seemed to be a belly dancing challenge.

To know more about the hosting challenge, and to know who Wilma Doesn't and Lucy Torres-Gomez think should be eliminated, watch StarStruck V Live! this Saturday, January 9, 2010, as they broadcast live from SM North EDSA.

[PBB Double Up] Pee Where You Should

Oh lord what a baby!

For peeing on the wall of the PBB House, Paul Jake and Jason were punished by Big Utol, Big Brother's mean younger sibling who was taking over Big Brother's position while he's in the hospital.

As punishment, they were each given 3 pieces of diapers that they should use for 2 straight days. Not only that, a 3.5 liter of water was given to each of them. They should drink it all and bring the container wherever they go.

Melissa found the diaper-clad Jason so funny that she made fun of him despite his warning. As a result, he kicked a ball at her and it hit Melissa hard on the upper chest. The suspected ADHD housemate cried but after a while, acted as if nothing happened.

Jason, however, didn't follow the instructions given to them by Big Utol. He wore an underwear inside the diaper and it made Big Utol even madder.

Good thing Jason wasn't given an additional punishment for that.

Casey Johnson Dead at 30

Socialite Casey Johnson, 30, died of still unknown cause last Monday. She was pronounced dead by the paramedics even before police officers arrived at her Los Angeles home at around 11:51 a.m. that day.

Casey is the daughter of New York Jets owner Woody Johnson, and heiress to the Johnson & Johnson business empire.

She gained celebrity status for being the girlfriend of the bisexual tv star, Tila Tequila.

She was also a high school classmate of Paris Hilton, and the part of Nicole Richie as Paris's co-star in "The Simple Life" was first offered to her.

The cause of her death is still deferred pending toxicological tests and microscopic studies that could last up to eight weeks.

Charice feat Sean Kingston - "Pyramid"

Omigad! Charice's "Pyramid" single featuring Sean Kingston has been leaked! I was so smiling while listening cuz the song was simply perfect for Charice, and at the same time, it's way different from the diva belt-out songs that she's often associated with.

If more songs like this come her way, she'd be able to get out of the shadows of Whitney Houston and Celine Dion and make a sound all her own. And with that, I am so happy that (I hope) she can now say goodbye to the Bodyguard medley that we are beginning to get tired of already.

Listen to "Pyramid" below:

What do you think?

The Tiger

Tiger Woods is on the cover of Vanity Fair February 2010 ish.

Now are you happy to see him shirtless after the controversies?

The photo was said to have been taken by Annie Leibovitz before the mistress controversy hit the media.

A Movie For Melason?

So there's a Melissa-Jason (Melason) movie being planned out for the PBB Double Up loveteam despite the fact that they're still inside the PBB House! And it's complete with a title ("Pugot ang Ulo ng Ina Mo") and someone to back them up (Ai Ai delas Alas). Wenn de Ramas is said to be directing.

And since it's Wenn, we can almost be sure that DJ Durano will also be in the cast =)

Leighton Meester on Cosmopolitan January 2010

Our girl Blair graces the cover of the local Cosmopolitan.

Leighton Meester is looking sweet on the cover shot but I can't help but see the biatch in her Gossip Girl character everytime I see her. But we love the Queen B for being mean, don't we?

Leighton has two movies coming out this year. First one is a romantic-action-comedy titled "Date Night" with Steve Carell, Tina Fey, and Mark Wahlberg. I've actually seen its trailer when I watched "2012" monthsss ago and I remembered it because I saw Leighton's name flash on the screen. Okay, I confess, a shirtless Mark also made the trailer appealing to me.

Leighton's second movie out this year is "The Roommate" directed by Christian E. Christiansen. It's a thriller set in a dorm and Leighton here plays the new student Rebecca, a girl with strange habits.

Anyway, featured hunk for this month's issue of Cosmo is Akihiro Sato, taglined: Why He'll Charm the Panties Off You. Oops! Sorry sweetie. I wear no panties.

[PBB Double Up] Big Tol

Since Big Brother is sick, he is temporarily replaced by his brother who is called Big Tol. "Tol" is a shortened "utol," which is a Tagalog slang for brother.

Unlike Big Brother who speaks politely and in a very professional manner, Big Tol speaks like a kanto boy. Very much like Jason, actually, that when he first greeted the housemates, they thought it was Jason.

Of course we know there is no sick Big Brother and that it's all a test. From what I can see, Big Tol's purpose is to make the housemates overcome their fear.

For one, there was a cockroach included in one of the crumpled papers, among which Paul Jake would have to find the Task Letter. Paul Jake fears cockroaches, but Big Tol even commanded the poor housemate to get the cockroach and show it to him. Such ass.

Not only that, Big Tol also commanded Sam to spill water on Cathy's face just because Cathy is taking a nap. And Cathy, fearing snakes, was given a plastic container with a snake inside. She had to hold it for a full 24 hours.

I don't wanna call them tasks, but the pranks on other housemates will be shown tomorrow.

[StarStruck] Steven and Piero Show They Can Really Sing

I must admit I fell in love with Steven here. He gave us so much of himself with that one performance!

Piero naman was so dashing and oozing with sex appeal. To think that he's only 16! Oh lord the hormones!

But still, Piero might be better looking than Steven (IMO) but Steven outshined Piero here. Watch below.

[StarStruck] Enzo Goes Wholesome, Rox and Princess Tries Sexy Dancing

Enzo danced with the kids while Rox and Princess did a sexy dance number together.

Funny why they'd put Rox and Princess in one number. They wanted to compare to tell which they should dump?

Enzo was so fun to watch, though. The energy! And he's so wholesome. Perhaps he'd get to co-host Archangel eventually. LoL!

Watch the video below.

[PBB Double Up] Sam, Jason, and Johan are Nominated

Jason was the kulelat during the Head of Household challenge so he was given the choice of either being automatically nominated or to give 3 points against one housemate of his choice. His kind heart ruled over his judgments so he chose to just automatically nominate himself.

On the other hand, Sam got the highest votes among the housemates with 7, while Johan got the next highest votes with 6. Last week, Sam and Johan were also among the nominated with Paul Jake and the recently evicted, Rica Paras. According to yesterday's eviction results, Sam got the highest viewers' votes and Johan got in second.

But now that they are joined by Jason of the already famous Melason tandem, will they have a chance to win?

[StarStruck] Season V's Dance Craze - "Enjoy"

StarStruck is known for its Dance Craze every season which are made popular by the survivors themselves. Most memorable dances from the past seasons are "Average Joe" and "Follow the Leader."

Geleen Eugenio has been StarStruck's Dance Craze choreographer since season 1. And for season 5, she was able to come up again with another sure hit dance craze to the tune of "Enjoy."

Watch Mark Herras perform "Average Joe" with the current batch of male survivors, Ryza Cenon with the female survivors doing "Follow the Leader," and the Top 10 StarStruck V Survivors doing their very own Dance Craze, "Enjoy."

[StarStruck] Factor 3 - The Audience Power

StarStruck V's Factor 3 (The Vote-Out Power) has taken into effect that's why tonight was declared a non-elimination night.

And what is Factor 3? Well, it has 3 levels:

1. The viewers has a bigger power next week for they will control 60% of the decision on who will stay and who will go. Well more on who will go cuz the viewers get to vote the survivor they want to be out of the competition.

2. The council get to give 20% of the score on who they think should be eliminated. But with Factor 3 taking effect, their one-time power to save a survivor will temporarily be suspended for a week.

3. The survivors will have a "say" on the elimination. The remaining 20% of the score will come from them. They will have to vote out a fellow survivor next week.

At the very least, a double elimination will happen. One male and one female survivor will have to go.

Since tonight was declared a non-elimination night, the votes that the survivors got for this week will be carried over to next week's results.

So people, to vote out a StarStruck survivor, here are the guidelines:
Just type OUT and send it to 367 for Smart and Talk 'N Text subscribers and 2344 for Globe, TM and Sun subscribers.

To make it clearer, here's a screencap =)

Just please be guided that for this week (and this week alone), we are voting for the survivor that we want to eliminate.
