Kris Allen Wins "Idol"

Kris Allen won over Adam Lambert in the just concluded season of American Idol.

The top 3 contestant, Danny Gokey, and Lambert had consistently been the highest vote-getters since the first week. Allen, on the other hand, had been an underdog and mostly got votes for his good looks. He proved, though, in the last few weeks that he has his niche in the music industry and he can touch the hearts of people with his singing. He was able to land in the final two when Gokey fans wasn't able give enough votes for their idol. For the past week, the question of whom Gokey fans will give their votes to had been the question. Would they vote for the rocker rumored as gay? Or will they vote for the guy-next-door?

It's quite obvious that Gokey's fans loved his clean-cut image and they rather voted for someone with as clean-cut an image as their idol. I'm not saying that my bet, Adam Lambert, isn't clean. But the ongoing rumors about his sexuality (which he neither confirmed nor deny) surely hindered his chances of winning.

"Sherlock Holmes" Trailer

Robert Downey Jr. plays the detective Sherlock in Guy Ritchie's upcoming "Sherlock Holmes." Jude Law plays the part of Sherlock's sidekick, Dr. Watson.

There had been reports that Ritchie's Sherlock Holmes is gay, but the movie's trailer doesn't have any indication of that. Well aside from the scene where Sherlock and Watson are arguing about playing violin at 3 in the morning.

Watch it in the trailer below.
