Philippine Star Ball 2009

About a hundred foreign and 400 local couples are competing at the 2nd Philippine Star Ball which happens on February 15 at the Makati Shangri-La Hotel. Pinky Puno, head of the organizing committee of the Philippine Star Ball, says it's going to be a tougher competition this year as the best from around the world join in the challenge.

There's going to be a daytime competition which starts at 10 a.m., and an evening competition at 8 p.m.

Standard dances include slow waltz, tango, foxtrot, Viennese waltz, and quickstep.

Kristine Hermosa's New Shows

Seems like the year is starting right for Kristine Hermosa. The beautiful actress is scheduled to do two soaps due out this year - Maruja and Ikaw Lamang.

Maruja is an adaptation of the 1967 Susan Roces-Romeo Vasquez original penned by Mars Ravelo. The film was first remade by Viva Films in 1996 starring ex-husband and wife Carmina Villaroel and Rustom Padilla.

Maruja is a love story that defied the limits of time. It has so much flash-back scenes that we'll surely enjoy seeing Kristine Hermosa in old Filipino costumes.

Also in the cast are Karylle, Rafael Rosell, John Estrada and Gloria Romero.

Ikaw Lamang, on the other hand, will be the comeback of Kristine Hermosa-Jericho Rosales loveteam.

Paolo Contis To Host "My Dad is Better Than

Paolo Contis will host My Dad is Better Than Your Dad which premieres this Sunday, February 8th. It will replace the celebrity edition of Family Feud which is hosted by Richard Gomez.

For its pilot telecast, the show will have celebrity contestants. Bobby Andrews with son Miguel, William Martinez with son Adam, Joshua Zamora with son Javen, and Lander Vera-Perez with daughter Reign will compete for the top prize.

The game has four rounds prior to the jackpot - Ang Daddy Kong Strong will test the dads' energy, resistance, and determination;Ang Daddy Kong Fast needs speed, endurance, and alertness;Ang Daddy Kong Brave will challenge their agility, mental toughness, and spirit; and Ang Daddy Kong Smart will test their knowledge and awareness.
