The 37th Awit Awards has released the list of nominees. The Pinoy Pop group SB19 got the most number of nominations with 12, and that's not counting Felip's Best Cover Art nomination for Com.Plex and Josh Cullen's Best Music Video nomination for Wild Tonight. Lola Amour was next in line with 9 nominations, and BINI with 7. For those of us who watched the show via livestream, we all thought that Miss International Queen 2024 went on smoothly. Little did we know that something wrong was going on at the backstage while everyone was trying be demure on stage. A video showing Miss Malaysia shouting and having a fit have been circulating online since right after the crowning moment of Miss Peru as the new queen. In the video, Miss Malaysia is seen angry at a woman wearing a black dress. According to some of the comments in the video posted on Facebook, Miss Malaysia apparently didn't want to participate in the swimsuit round after failing to make it to the top 12. Just like in other big pageants, those who didn't make the cut will open the next segment, in this case, the swimsuit round. This move enables the girls to still showcase on stage their swimsuit and the bodies that they have long dieted for. Miss Peru Catalina Marsano was named Miss International Queen 2024 on Saturday, August 24. The pageant's finals was held at the Tiffany's Show Pattaya in Thailand. Catalina bested 22 other beautiful candidates including Thailand's Saruda Panyakham who was named 1st runner-up, and Vietnam's Nguyen Tuong San who was 2nd runner-up. The Philippines' Sophia Nicole Arkanghel was able to make the Top 6, together with Miss Colombia Juliana Rivera Gutierrez and Miss USA Kataluna Enriquez.
