Jona impressed the viewers of the show with her singing abilities from two-part grand finals, besting the classical singer Mica Becerro (FamiLea), Isabela Vinzon (Kamp Kawayan), and Jeremy Glinoga (Team Sharon). She got the highest combined text and online votes of 44.78% from the Saturday and Sunday polls.
The teen artist sang Better Days with her coach, Sarah Geronimo, on Saturday for the duets with coaches part of the grand finals. She followed it up with the upbeat Just Dance which showed everyone that she's not just a biritera, she can also move!
On Sunday, she belted out R. Kelly's I Believe I Can Fly for the power ballad performances, leaving her coach teary-eyed.
The rest of the Top 4 teen artists were also good, especially Mica Becerro, the classical singer from FamiLea. Her chosen genre, however, is not pangmasa and it's perhaps the reason why she ended up 3rd in the standing.
Here's the grand finals results:
Jona got 44.78%, followed by Isabel Vinzon (Kamp Kawayan) with 22.42%. Mica finished 3rd with 17.79%, and Team Sharon's Jeremy Glinoga was 4th with 15.01%.
Among the prizes Jona got as the champion of The Voice Teens included a million pesos in cash and another million in trust fund from H&M, a life insurance from Sun Life, recording and management contract from MCA Records, a business package, and a brand new house and lot from Camella Homes.
