Kris Allen Wins "Idol"

Kris Allen won over Adam Lambert in the just concluded season of American Idol.

The top 3 contestant, Danny Gokey, and Lambert had consistently been the highest vote-getters since the first week. Allen, on the other hand, had been an underdog and mostly got votes for his good looks. He proved, though, in the last few weeks that he has his niche in the music industry and he can touch the hearts of people with his singing. He was able to land in the final two when Gokey fans wasn't able give enough votes for their idol. For the past week, the question of whom Gokey fans will give their votes to had been the question. Would they vote for the rocker rumored as gay? Or will they vote for the guy-next-door?

It's quite obvious that Gokey's fans loved his clean-cut image and they rather voted for someone with as clean-cut an image as their idol. I'm not saying that my bet, Adam Lambert, isn't clean. But the ongoing rumors about his sexuality (which he neither confirmed nor deny) surely hindered his chances of winning.

"Sherlock Holmes" Trailer

Robert Downey Jr. plays the detective Sherlock in Guy Ritchie's upcoming "Sherlock Holmes." Jude Law plays the part of Sherlock's sidekick, Dr. Watson.

There had been reports that Ritchie's Sherlock Holmes is gay, but the movie's trailer doesn't have any indication of that. Well aside from the scene where Sherlock and Watson are arguing about playing violin at 3 in the morning.

Watch it in the trailer below.

Girl on Bra Surprises Adam Lambert

A girl clad in only a bra and skirt rushed to the stage just after American Idol 8 contestant Adam Lambert finished singing his now popular version of "Mad World."

The guards obviously didn't expect the incident happening, the reason why the girl was able to go onstage and almost touched the contestant during his hometown visit.

It had been a custom for American Idol Top 3 to go back to their hometown to perform and campaign for votes.

Lambert, who is EW's Most Exciting 'American Idol' Contestant in Years, was surprised as well he was only able to laugh and say "woohoo" while watching the girl running towards him.

Watch the video after the jump.

Richard Poon - "For You"

Richard Poon's "For You" album will have a launch this coming May 15, Friday, at the Open Park of the New Eastwood Mall.

Poon, the country's only big band crooner, always amazes us with his skillful song arrangements and how he turns the most upbeat of songs into jazzy blues.

There would be no doubt this new album will once again make waves in the music scene just like his first one, "I'll Take Care Of You."

"For You" boasts of its carrier single, "Kumot at Unan," which is of course done in a Richard Poon-y way. "Kumot at Unan" was originally done by the APO Hiking Society.

The complete list of songs of the album:
1. You and I
2. Kumot at Unan
3. Complicated
4. You are the Sunshine of My Life
5. Kahit Ika’y Panaginip Lang
6. Blue Moon
7. (They Long to Be) Close to You
8. Portrait of my Love
9. Kahit ‘Di Mo Napapansin
10. Through the Fire
11. And I Love You So
12. For You

Nina Files a Case Against Nyoy Volante

Yesterday, May 7, 2009, "Soul Siren" Nina filed an estafa case against Nyoy Volante before the Quezon City Regional Trial Court.

It can be recalled that some three months ago, Nina told "Showbiz News Ngayon" (SNN) about the alleged sum of money (reportedly more than a million pesos) her ex-boyfriend Nyoy Volante owes her. Now we know she did it as some form of a plea for the ex-boyfriend to pay the money back. Because now, three months after, Nina has decided to really file a case when the ex failed to pay back.

Adam Lambert is "The Most Exciting"

Adam Lambert is on the cover of an upcoming Entertainment Weekly issue. A caption on the cover reads "The Most Exciting 'American Idol' Contestant in Years" and don't you think it's so true?

Lambert has the hottest and craziest vocals to hit the Idol stage. Mellow or rock, he sure has the power to deliver the most brilliant performance week after week.

On the question of his sexuality, he says, "I have nothing to hide. I am who I am."

And I don't think his sexuality would really matter. He's hot up there, he hits the highest notes... It's a singing competition, after all.

Danny Gokey Gets Away With Rock Week

After the horrible bad screeching that Simon Cowell even described as horror movie-ish, Danny Gokey managed to stay in the show to become part of the Top 3. Had he been the one evicted tonight, the three who would have remained were the most lovable of season 8. Too bad Allison had to go despite an excellent rock week performance. It's her genre. And besides, Danny sucked last night. But oh well, the Americans voted. What else can we do?

Just enjoy watching the below video. I, myself, had a blast watching this horror movie:
