“Party Pilipinas” and “ASAP 2012” pay tribute to “Miss Saigon” (Videos)

The Miss Saigon fever is indeed back in the country as auditions for the musical’s revival in the West End was held last week. Several well-known local singers auditioned for parts but only a few of them lasted till the last day, with the names of Kapuso singers Rachelle Ann Go, Frencheska Farr and Aicelle Santos on top of the list.

As regulars of GMA-7’s Sunday show Party Pilipinas, the three were joined on November 25 by Gian Magdangal, Robert Seña (who was part of the original Miss Saigon cast) and Rita de Guzman (who also auditioned last week but didn’t make it).

Rachelle Ann Go is one of the top contenders in the Miss Saigon audition that started on Monday, November 19, at the Opera Haus in Makati City.

The Kapuso diva got a callback slip during her initial audition on Tuesday. She passed the second round which made her move on to the dance part of the audition.

Angeline Quinto auditions for “Miss Saigon”

Angeline Quinto auditioned earlier today for a part in the much-talked about revival of Miss Saigon in London.

Sarah Lahbati Takes the Lead in "Kokak"

Sarah Lahbati is finally playing the lead via the upcoming GMA-7 series Kokak. It is scheduled to premiere on November 14 in the timeslot that will be left by Pahiram ng Isang Ina in the network's afternoon block

TJ Trinidad and JC Tiuseco will be Sarah's leading men. Also in the cast are Jessa Zaragoza, Gary Estrada, Frencheska Farr, Deborah Sun, Vaness del Moral and Ervic Vijandre.

Directed by actor/director Ricky Davao, Kokak is a TV remake of the 1989 Seiko Films movie that starred Rachel Lobangco.
