Barbie Forteza and Derrick Monasterio will reunite as a love team in GMA-7’s upcoming fantasy series Paroa: Ang Kwento Ni Mariposa.
The series was known as Mariposa in its earlier teasers until it was recently changed to its current title.
Barbie and Derrick first teamed up in the second book of Luna Blanca. And I can almost hear the JoshBies (fans of Barbie and Joshua Dionisio’s love team) grunting with this second project of Barbie and Derrick as a love team.
Paroa premieres on November 5, taking the timeslot of Moon Embracing The Sun which is on its last week. It will pit against ABS-CBN’s Aryana in the pre-evening news slot.
So it’s fantaserye versus fantaserye beginning Nov. 5, and it is to be seen if Paroa will beat Aryana in its constant 5th place in the national ratings.
Paroa is directed by Mark Reyes. Also in its cast are Joyce Ching, Miguel Tanfelix, Bianca Umali, Tanya Garcia, Agot Isidro, Gino dela Peña, Rita Iringan and Maritoni Fernandez.
