Eddie Redmayne as Newt Scamander on Entertainment Weekly cover

Oscar winner Eddie Redmayne will be starring as a world-famous magizoologist named Newt Scamander in the upcoming "Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them," and Entertainment Weekly gives us a first look at the character on the cover of its November 13, 2015 issue.

"Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them" is a prequel film to the "Harry Potter" movie series.

The cover is described as:

In our cover image (see the full image below), you get a first look at Scamander, his pivotal briefcase in hand, standing inside the entrance of the majestic art deco-influenced Magical Congress of the United States of America (or MACUSA), which is the American version of the Ministry of Magic that’s housed inside the Woolworth Building in the film. Also in the cast of the movie are Katherine Waterston, Colin Farrell and Samantha Morton.

"Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them" is set for release in 2016.
