Pacquiao all set to defend WBO Welterweight title against Algieri

Sporting fans around the world are anticipating the biggest boxing match of the year as Fighter of the Decade Manny “Pacman” Pacquiao goes head to head with New York’s (U.S.A.) undefeated World Boxing Organization (WBO) Junior Welterweight Champion Chris Algieri to defend his WBO Welterweight Title on Saturday, November 22 at the Cotai Arena, Venetian Resort, Macau, China.  The match dubbed “Hunger for Glory” will unfold on The Filipino Channel (TFC) via Pay-Per-View (PPV) on November 23 at 6 a.m. Dubai time and 5 a.m. Saudi time and at 1 p.m. Australia Daylight Savings Time [ADST] and 3 p.m. New Zealand Daylight Savings Time [NZDT]).

Pacquiao vs Algieri

As boxing’s eight-division world champion with an astounding record of 56 wins, and five losses with three knock-outs, Pacquiao is an early bet to win against newcomer Algieri, dubbed by netizens as the ‘heavy underdog’ despite his record of 20 wins with eight knock-outs and 0 losses.  Algieri may have the height and reach advantage with his 5-feet-10 stance and maximum reach of 72 inches but professional referees and analysts believe this figure will not hinder the Filipino champ’s speed and foot work.  Pacquiao stands 5-feet-6 in height and has a maximum reach of 67-inches.

In an interview with abs-cbnnews.com, Pacquiao said: “It’s all set.  I believe this is going to be an exciting fight.”  The prized fighter assures fans that his months of training have brought back his younger shape: fast, powerful, and aggressive.  Meantime, Algieri admits that the fight against Pacquiao may be the start of his legacy and guarantees a fight worth-watching between him and the boxer who is also Congressman of Sarangani (Mindanao, Philippines) and now a basketball playing coach.  He says to the fans, “I prepared very well. I am ready to fight a living legend. Tune in as you do not want to miss this.”

Do not miss the world’s biggest boxing match between Pacquiao and Algieri via PPV on TFC November 23 at 6 a.m. Dubai time and 5 a.m. Saudi time and at 1 p.m. Australia Daylight Savings Time [ADST] and 3 p.m. New Zealand Daylight Savings Time [NZDT]).  Filipinos in the Middle East can visit www.facebook.com/TFCMiddleEast; call the hotlines:  800 832 (UAE); 800 811 0312 (KSA); 00 800 971 832 (QATAR) or go to the nearest TFC Dealer.  The Pacquiao-Algieri fight will also be available on OSN, Elife and Mozaic TV.  (With additional reports from abs-cbnnews.com)
