30th Film Independent Spirit Awards (2015) nominees revealed, Lav Diaz's "Norte" in for Best International Film

Film Independent has announced the nominations for the 30th Annual Spirit Awards.

Norte, the End of History

The Philippines received a nomination courtesy of Lav Diaz's "Norte, the End of History" which is included in the Best International Film category. The movie is about a law student whose double murder crime was pinned on a poor family man, leaving the wife to fend for the children.

Meanwhile, "Birdman or (The Unexpected Virtue of Ignorance)" received the most number of nominations with six, followed by "Boyhood," "Selma," and "Nightcrawler" with five each. "Whiplash" and "Love is Strange" got four nominations each.

Winners will be announced in a live ceremony to be held on February 21, 2015 in Santa Monica.
