‘The Voice PH’ 1st Live Show results - RJ, Cora, Talia, Junji eliminated (VIDEOS)

Four artists were eliminated from The Voice Of The Philippines at the end of the Kapamilya program’s first-ever Live Show held at the Newport Performing Arts Theater of Resorts World Manila on Sunday, August 25,

The voting and elimination was fast-paced, with the viewers only getting the chance to save their bets through text and online votes during the commercial break following the team’s performances.

Darryl Shy, who sang an emotion-filled version of Danny’s Song, got the highest percentage of votes from Coach Lea Salonga’s team that’s why he was automatically declared safe for the night. He had 51.41% of the votes received for their team.

Lea had to choose between Radha Tinsay, who sang River Deep, Mountain High, and RJ Dela Fuente, who did his version of I’ll Stand By You. RJ, whom Lea said had the most remarkable improvement, was sent home.

In Team Apl.de.ap’s team, the Gandang Gabi Vice back-up singer Thor Dulay got the most number of votes with 43.63% for singing Narito. And between Jessica Reynoso (I Believe) and Cora dela Cruz (Nosi Balasi), Coach Apl picked Jessica to stay.

Myk Perez of Team Bamboo got everyone clapping and dancing with his mash-up of California King and Isn’t She Lovely. Not surprising when he got 54.80% of the votes, the highest in their team. Lee Grane, who sang Make You Feel My Love was saved by Coach Bamboo Mañalac over Talia Reyes who did a heartfelt rendition of You Oughta Know.

Last to perform was Sarah Geronimo’s team, and they definitely saved the bests for last. Morrisette Amon had a lot of fans screaming for her in the audience while she sang Jar Of Hearts. Her vocals is definitely something that you could put your money on, so it’s not surprising when she got the highest percentage of votes in her team with 57.16%, which was also the highest for the night.

Coach Sarah seemed to take long to decide who to choose between Eva delos Santos who sang So Far Away and Junji Arias who did I Don’t Wanna Miss A Thing. After a while, she sent Junji home, saving the 51-year-old Mommy Eva.
