Iñigo Pascual stars in indie film, officially joins showbiz

Iñigo Pascual officially joins showbiz via his debut movie that he finished shooting in 16 days.

Titled Relaks, It’s Just Pag-ibig, the indie film also stars Julian Estrada and Sofia Andres. It was co-produced by Spring Films, the production outfit of Iñigo’s dad, Piolo Pascual.

Piolo had always been firm in keeping his 15-year-old son from showbiz, and according to the movie’s director, Joyce Bernal, it wasn’t easy to convince the Kapamilya actor to allow Iñigo to do the movie.

“Ang tagal naming niligawan [si Piolo] ayaw niya talaga,” Yahoo! OMG! quoted the director as saying. “When finally pumayag siya, sabi niya, ‘Pelikula lang, hindi siya magpo-promo. Hindi dapat makaka-abala sa studies niya.”

It was the reason why they made it sure to do the movie while Iñigo was vacationing in the country and finish it before he had to go back to the US for the start of the school year.

Meanwhile, we have already seen Iñigo in a bit role in Piolo’s then series Dahil Sa Pag-ibig as one of the seminarians. He’s also in the music video for Star Magic’s 20th anniversary, Ikaw Ang Magic Ng Buhay Ko.
