‘It Takes A Man And A Woman’ not yet the last in Sarah-John Lloyd series?

It Takes A Man And A Woman has earned more than P220-million within nine days, but will there be another chapter to the love story of Laida and Miggy to look forward to?

During the special screening of the movie on Monday hosted by cast member Rowell Santiago, John Lloyd Cruz who plays the role of Miggy said that he’s open to the possibility of a fourth movie. That is, if there would be a script better than the current movie.

“If we can come up with a better script or better material than It Takes a Man and a Woman, then tingnan natin. Kung hindi, I'd rather end it this way,” the actor said.

But he admitted that no one knows if there would be a fourth one or not.

“Personally, hindi namin alam,” he said. “Wala pong nakakaalam. I'm sure at this point kahit si Boss Vic (del Rosario), si Tita Malou (Santos), hindi nila alam kung may susunod pa for Laida and Miggy.”

It Takes A Man And A Woman has been marketed as the third and final installment to the well-loved story, but with ticket sales as good as this one, wouldn’t the producers think twice about ending it with just three films?

Even Sarah told the press what she envisions the fourth movie would be like, and she talked about her character Laida having babies and facing the initial trials of raising a family.

“Maganda muna 'yung makita ng mga tao 'yung buhay mag-asawa nila, 'yung adjustments, paano nila malalagpasan,” the popstar said.

The love story started in the 2008 movie A Very Special Love which earned P179.3-million in the box-office. The second movie, 2009’s You Changed My Life, was even a bigger success with P225.2-million. Of course, it can now be told that the third installment will surpass the figures made by the second since its 9th day record revealed that it’s only P5.2-million away. The movie is also set to have its international screening, with 28 theaters across the U.S. and 13 in Canada, so we can expect its gross to change to greater numbers soon.
