GMA-7 has released its lineup of shows for the second quarter of the year, but since June is almost done, we can say second half of 2012 for the upcoming ones.
The list included shows that have already premiered like Luna Blanca, Makapiling Kang Muli, One True Love, Kasalanan Bang Ibigin Ka?, My Daddy Dearest, Tweets For My Sweet, Pare & Pare and Cooking With The Stars.
Among the upcoming ones were Faithfully which is set to air its pilot episode next Monday, June 18, 2012. It stars Maxene Magalona, Isabel Oli, Vaness del Moral, Michelle Madrigal, Isabelle Daza, Marc Abaya and Mike Tan. Mike Tuviera directs.
Hindi Ka Na Mag-iisa is slated to premiere on July 9, 2012. Jennylyn Mercado and Sid Lucero topbill the drama series which is directed by Gil Tejada, Jr. Also in the cast are Angelu de Leon, Saab Magalona, Frank Magalona, Crystal Reyes, Carl Guevarra and Liza Lorena.
The much-awaited (among the JuliElmos) replacement for Tween Hearts is gonna start this Sunday, June 17. The tandem of Julie Anne San Jose and Elmo Magalona levels up with this new weekly teen drama Together Forever which is directed by Dick Lindayag. Also in the cast are Steven Silva, Enzo Pineda, Renz Valerio, Sef Cadayona, Benedict Campos and Janine Gutierrez.
Protégé: The Battle For The Big Artista Break will also premiere soon. It will have Dingdong Dantes as the Gala Presenter, Carla Abellana as the Journey Host, Jennylyn Mercado as host of Inside Protégé, and Maxene Magalona as web jock for daily updates in Protégé Webisodes. Celebrity mentors include Jolina Magdangal, Phillip Salvador, Roderick Paulate, Gina Alajar and Ricky Davao.
Jinkee Pacquiao also gets a level up with her very first talk show, Love. Life. It’s gonna premiere soon and we’ll find out if it’s true that it’s gonna be pitted against Kris TV in its new timeslot.
With this list, the Kapuso network aims to dominate the ratings game. Protégé has evolved from a singing star search to an artista search, making it the new StarStruck. I think, however, that it will be pitted against The X Factor Philippines which is a singing reality show. Together Forever will also be a sure hit with Julie and Elmo’s huge fan base. It’s also quite exciting to see Isabelle Daza act. I guess Faithfully is the reason why Solenn Heussaff has been pinch-hitting for her in Eat… Bulaga!
