Magnitude 5.6-earthquake hits Eastern Samar

Eastern Samar was shook by a magnitude-5.6 earthquake on Saturday evening, February 4, 2012.

According to the United States Geological Survey (USGS), the earthquake was recorded at 9:90 PM. The epicenter was traced to 101 kilometers north of Guiuan, Samar.

Based on the record of Phivolcs, the earthquake was felt at:

Intensity IV - Gamay, Northern Samar
Intensity III - Palo; Tacloban; Tolosa; Tanauan, Leyte; San Policarpo; Borongan; Gen. Mac Arthur; Salcedo; Llorente; Oras, E. Samar ; Catbalogan, Samar;
Intesity II - Cataingan, Masbate
Intesity I - Busay, Cebu City

No aftershocks nor damage is expected.
